Had a spare day and booked this course / day out – loved it all three of us – Not just about the cooking, but the market tour you got to understand the raw ingredients and then how thai food should be cooked ! Would totally recommend it
A beautiful location. Indoors with training demonstration room. Then hands on practice at all recipes taught. The day starts by being picked up by free transport from your hotel early in the morning. Then a tour of the local Phuket food market to see first hand where the ingredients are sourced.. then, on to the training venue. This is an all day activity. Do not eat anything before you go. I promise you will not go hungry and the dishes that you create from scratch are, nutritious, delicious and very satisfying. The main instructors James and Get, speak perfect English and have a very thorough knowledge of their craft. James especially is a born comedian and will have you laughing as you enjoy cooking. I could not rate this activity more highly.
This was my 5th cooking class here since 2012. Both Get and James put on a fantastic day as well as the rest of the staff. The day starts with a visit to Phuket Market where the aroma of curry paste and fresh food get the taste buds going. The day concludes when you finish off your last of 5 dishes you have prepared and cooked. Well worth a visit if you are in town. Well done team. Cooking class number 6 in 2020 ?
Glad we picked this cooking school. The location is breath taking and the staff are sooo nice. Couldn’t fault the day. We were picked up from our hotel and taken to a market (wow) and then driven to the school and cooked some amazing dishes. Very professionally run. We ate all the food we cooked and also took some home. We got cooking cards with the recipes on too. After all this our chef drove us back to our resort. Can’t recommend this school enough. I would go back again next time we visit
Excellent introduction to Thai cookery – ingredients, recipes and techniques. Following a fascinating trip around a large local market we were taught in small groups by friendly, helpful and experienced chefs. Prepared and enjoyed a varied and complete menu of dishes that will be cooked back home.. Great beach-side location. Well organised and came away with confidence and enthusiasm for trying them out at home.The only change that would make the day even better would be an earlier start so we could have spent more time at the market and sampled some of the amazing array of foods on sale there.
My wife and I wanted to learn authentic thai cooking. We have a few dietary restrictions and they accommodated amazingly. Learned how to cook multiple dishes and also went to a local market to see how locals buy the ingredients.
Spent the day cooking amazing Thai food right next to an idyllic beach with amazing views. Fantastic instructors James and Get made the cooking instruction really fun and I learnt how to cook Thai Green curry totally from scratch and It tasted lovely. We also cooked 3 other dishes all lovely, it was a really fun day I would whole heartedly recommend it to everyone even if your not a very good cook. This was an amazing experience as the chefs cooked each dish separately, allowed us to taste then we were able to cook and eat each dish ourselves. There was a decent interval between each dish that you didnt feel full or rushed and the course was from 8 30 to 2.30 so was a decent amount of time.The chefs were adorable, very knowledgeable with good English and they were funny too.We had recipe cards at the end which was good so we can cook the meals again at home.I booked through the internet and had money off which was cheaper than booking from the Hotels x
With the Carona virus everybody in Phuket is struggling to get business, thus we were the only ones in the class today. We enjoyed the session with Get and James very much – they have learned from their families, yet have shown considerable good knowledge about cooking techniques. I’m not a big fan of cooking like my wife, but this I really enjoyed along with her. The class really gets into everyday life and food of Phuket – go learn with them you will not regret it, their English is very good! O and they have a great relaxing view starting from right at their doorstep!
Miss We from Exquisite Tours organised a private cooking class for our family of 4 with 2 teenage boys in Dec 2022. The school is right on the beautiful beach on Sire Island (accessible by road within an hours drive of Patong) with a lovely breeze keeping you cool as you cook. Chef James was very informative, gave very clear instructions and was also very funny and a delight to cook with. We watched him demonstrate how to cook the dish and then cooked ourselves. We made 5 dishes – spring rolls, pad Thai, massaman curry, green curry, mango sticky rice. All were equally delicious and we couldn’t eat all the food! We were given lovely recipe cards to take home. A lovely way to spend 5 hours and thoroughly enjoyed by all the family. Highly recommend this experience – don’t go indoors when you can cook in this beautiful place!
