  1. We went as three couples. We were picked up from our hotel and met Jul at the local market where she explained a lot about local produce bought a few items and followed her home.We had all picked the meals we wished to cook prior to our visit. All required ingredients were ready when we started to cook. The experience was both informative, enjoyable and lots of fun.Thankyou Jul for a great afternoon.

  2. Amazing cooking class!! The food tasted amazing and we learnt so much, definitely recommend! The teacher was so helpful and friendly!

  3. Thus one one of the best days we had in Samui. Jul is fantastic. We made delicious meals we have continued to make at home. She taught how to prepare from scratch, making pastes ourselves with all ingredients. She also gave us tips on how which pastes to buy to make the cooking easier at home, which has meant we can continue making food in less time in our work schedule.Jul also emailed us a full booklet of all recipes and instructions, which has meant we can continue our learning at home. Her knowledge is exceptional and I would 100% recommend. We will go again of we return.

  4. Jul and her cooking class stood out in 3 ways:We were able to choose to cook different dishes and she made it work seamlessly. That gave us more to taste and share. She engaged and worked at our kids (10 and 11yrs) level well – they could cut, cook and fry independently. She offered a ride in the back of the ute, understanding we can’t do that in our western country.Jul was organised and gave a great market experience as well as describing the ingredients uses and medicinal value. She was friendly and fun throughout the morning. We had so much food left over that we had our hotel warm it up for our dinner. We highly recommend this cooking class, we would do it again.

  5. Just the most amazing experience. Without exaggerating at all, this is the best thing we did in Koh Samui, more than worth every single penny. Jul was the best, picking us up from our hotel, taking us on a tour of a local market, welcoming us into her home, and giving us a tour of her lovely herb garden. She made it really special! Jul was also an excellent teacher. The intimate setup with just the four of us friends meant that she could be really helpful and attentive for all of us. We were all allowed to cook different things, which we then sat and shared. Jul prepared all of our ingredients and talked us through each step, explaining each ingredient and its properties, too. She also provided us with recipes to take away with us and sent me loads more on WhatsApp afterwards, as well. Highly recommend!

  6. A great morning out – even our teenage son loved it. En route to Jul’s family house we went via the market looking at all the ingredients we were going to be using during the morning. We each choose 3 dishes to cook, so a total of 9 dishes between us ! Make sure you go on an empty stomach as you get to eat everything you have cooked.Jul was really knowledgeable and lots of fun – she made the whole morning an unforgettable highlight of our holiday – I can highly recommend

  7. Jul was fantastic! We thoroughly enjoyed our half day cookery course at Samui Good Herb. Jul picked us up from our hotel and took us around a local food market before taking us back to her home/cookery school. We spent a morning making delicious dishes. She was friendly and informative and we really enjoyed eating our food afterwards. She accommodated our vegetarian daughter and we all made different Thai dishes in a lovely setting in her back garden/outdoor kitchen. I would highly recommend! Many thanks Jul, we hope to see you again one day!

  8. A great cooking class and a fun afternoon . We were collected from our hotel and went via the market to get a few supplies. We decided as a group of 4 to cook green papaya salad, beef massaman curry and Chicken Pad Thai. Jul was a very good teacher and our food was absolutely delicious . It is also worth noting that she doesn’t use MSG in her recipes. We also got to take some leftovers home . Would highly recommend.

  9. We booked this not quite knowing what to expect.Jul picked my wife and I up at our hotel and then took us to the local food market where restaurants and locals buy their ingredients each day, particularly those that can’t be grown on Samui. Then it was off to Jul’s house at Lamai where her and her husband grow many of the ingredients for what we would consider are the best Thai dishes. We had already selected the three meals that we each wanted to cook, so that the ingredients could be purchased at the local market or retrieved from their garden. Then for each dish, Jul explained what ingredients are used, what each contributes to the dish, and then she stepped us through the preparation and cooking process. My wife is a ‘good’ cook and I ‘love’ to cook, so Jul was just ‘perfectly’ bossy enough with me, assisting if needed, to ensure that I was able to keep up, as the dishes generally needed to be cooked in a timely manner. We would have zero chance of cooking any of the Thai dishes that we so love, had we not seen ‘how’ each dish was cooked at this class. The Tom Yum soups were awesome, the Penang curry and Pad Thai scrumptious and the spring rolls and fried rice delectable, and we cooked them all ourselves (well mostly). We will be finding the ingredients back home and practising all of the dishes we cooked. We have done many cooking classes for all types of food styles, and this, with its inclusion of culture, home style approach and perfect instruction, rates as one of the best.Thank you Jul !!!!

  10. This was amazing! We got picked up early by the owner and taken to her own Thai home! The class was great and we made the best Thai food we have ever tasted! I would 100% recommend for an authentic Thai experience.

  11. A wonderful experience learning about Thai food and aging some helpful tips for when we are back home. The food we cooked was way beyond anything any of us had cooked before – absolutely delicious. The lovely June guided us with such clear instructions and patience! Our very best day of our super holiday – throughly recommend.
