  1. I have now been to 2 exhibitions at this gallery and thoroughly enjoyed both of them. I’m far from an art buff, but the exhibitions were very accessible to someone like me, and were enjoyable. I would struggle to find deep meaning in much art, but the pieces were thought-provoking, interesting and fun.The exhibitions showcased up and coming designers from Thailand and one of the staff was telling me that their aim is to promote Thai art and artists on the international scene. It’s great to see someone putting in this investment into Thai art and I’ll definitely be back to check out their next exhibition. The third floor was a permanent exhibition to Buddhist statues and art, with a strong Burmese influence. In summary, if you’re looking for something unique and different to do in Bangkok then come check this place out.

  2. We attended Duo Artists Exhibition in this gallery – it was really good. The space is huge and can hold many big pieces, the building is quiet contemporary. Location wise, is not easy to find due to the one way road to access the neighbourhood, you may want to map it out before you go. The display is quiet good, labled in Thai and English, the lighting is quiet good through the whole gallerry which consists of two stories (what was opened that nite). Because we were in the opening nite, it was easy to gain information directly from the team members and the artists. However, we found out that the curatorial explanations matched with our personal impressions about the whole exhibition. It showed that the curators did a great job in presenting it to the audience. Seems like they promote young up coming artists as well as more established artists. Leaning more towards contemporary works. This was a first visit and we will certainly will seek what will come up next. We do not know how it looks on a normal day, definitely will check it out.

  3. SAC’s architecture immediately stands out with its large sculptures and vibrant murals around it. The centre is located about 15mins away from the bustle of Sukhumvit Road and is accessible by walking in via the main road. The space houses three floors of exhibition space and presents the work of young, emerging and contemporary Thai artists. Entry is free and the centre also has a book store for purchasing publications of the artists etc.

  4. Interesting space tucked away in a small by-lane that you will not discover by accident. In a predominantly residential area, you will have to navigate the turns on the map to come here. This place is about 1.5 kms from Asok/Phrom Phong BTS stations as well as from Sukhumvit metro station. Bike taxis as well as rickshaws and some version of Songthaeys are available for cheap transport to this place. This art gallery has three floors and on each floor you will see different artists displaying their art. A catalogue with price is available at the reception. On the day of my visit, no item was selling for less than 10,000 baht and most of the things I liked were going for about 50,000 baht or more..which was much more than my budget. Also, if you are an international traveler, you need to consider how you will transport the items you buy…most of them were oversized items that my airline won’t allow without an extra charge. That said, I was pretty impressed with jigsaw art of Natthapat Dissorn and if I were rich enough, would have picked a few art forms. The entry is free. And the whole place is empty. I spent some 90 minutes there and I saw only two other visitors to this place.

  5. Subhashok The Arts Centre is a very interesting art space and considered to be one of the most outstanding Thai gallery in Bangkok. The place is quite deep inside Sukhumvit 39. The nearest BTS is Phromphong but it is quite a long walk. A cab or a motorcycle would be a good idea rather than walking in Bangkok’s heat. The building itself are 3 storey and they have art exhibits from Local and International artists rotating every 1-2 months. People are lovely. Very well knowledge and extremely polite.

  6. Small gallery tucked away down a side street.  It’s a quiet place perfect for thought and discussion with friends.  There are 2 buildings and 5 floors total.  Some of the art I didn’t really understand but that’s what art does, it gets us thinking.  Friendly staff, good AC. Lots of cafes nearby
