Unless you know Bangkok well, you may have difficulty finding this wat, but it’s really cool and worth a visit if you have the time to seek it out. The temple is located on a small, winding road, in Bang Kruai, midway between the Pinklao area and Nonthaburi. The first thing you will see from the road is a huge outstretched neck of a “hong” (mythical swan) — the same as on the most famous of the royal barges, but about 5 times larger! The wat is, in fact, built as if it were sitting on a huge boat. The creativity and craftsmanship that’s gone into this temple is well worth seeing. The main problem is that it’s not near other tourist attractions, so you really have to make an effort to see it.
This temple is almost completely unknown to tourists. It consists of a 16th century Ayuthaya beautiful small temple with some interesting steles from the Sukkhothai era around it. Furthermore in modern times a gigantic swan shaped chapel was added. The temple borders Bangkok Noi canal and on the premises there are two noce local restaurants with a nice view on the canal.
The temple has the beautiful main hall on the boat structure. The temple was under renovation. There is a canal in the back of the temple. There are Thai houses by the canal.
