  1. They have guidebooks in several languages to learn many more details about all the exhibits. It is interesting to learn more about the history of international trade and ceramics production techniques. The artistic exhibits upstairs have stories about some Buddhist iconography and legends

  2. You must visit here to learn the local history before a trip to any of the Historic Parks. You can learn so much about the area and the put what you see at the Parks into perspective.

  3. If you like pots, old pots, you’ll love this place. I hit the doors at opening time at 9:00 am, so for much of the time it was me and the guide, that’s it. A private museum owned by the hotel next door, thankfully this man has a passion to preserve these marvellous ceramics for the future, and is pleased to share them with the rest of us. Downstairs is a well ordered route around the history of ceramics in Sukhothai and places further afield in South East Asia, and upstairs some remarkable objects linking art with Buddhist philosophy. Thankfully I did read most to both guide books while going around, unfortunately you cannot buy them to take them away to remind you of the pleasure you’ve had. When you leave, head into the old town near the Historical Park and have a look around Suthep Sangkalok for how they make it today, ceramic plates and pots of all types, and statuary too! You’ll want to take some home for sure, I did.

  4. Well organized museum in two separate buildings. The walking Buddha is in building 2. Museum entrance is just across the street from the main entrance to the Historical Park Site.

  5. This museum was located in the center of main road of Sukhothai province and close with Ananda hotel. This place was new building .You had to pay for fee entrance Thai was 50baht.There have2floor and have some ancient thing keep in the mirror box.Almost of ancient still looking good and clean. There have many thing from Asia country like China,Vietnam and Myanmar too.Not people travel here. But I think this place you should visit for learning about Thai culture. This place have air conditioner.

  6. This Museum close to the main Archeological Sites in Sukothai, is a worthwhile addition to the normal tour of the area, and houses many of the artifacts discovered while the main sites all around were being investigated and catalogued. Well worth a visit, but check the opening hours ! They are not the same as the Park !
