Patpong Night Market is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking 61, ซอย Thanon Phat Phong Suriya Wong, Bang Rak, 10500, Thailand
Quintessential Bangkok – this mall is loud and has food stalls including fried insects and lots of sleazy ping pong bars. I’m gay but when in Rome right…
Patpong night market is just a seedy trap these days. The market stalls aren’t anything you can’t find elsewhere and the bars at the sides are there to exploit young women for the entertainment of tourists. If you, like me, love Thailand, refuse to enter these establishments and take your tourist dollar elsewhere. Just around the corner there are some wonderful (above board) massage places and wonderful beef or pork noodle soup stand.
Nice market with on the also some inside shops with very good copy items. The better fake goods. Also nice gogo girl bars. Just don’t go into any ping pong show. You’ll have lots of problems getting out without being scammed.
I am staying on the other side of Silom Road so I thought I’d check out the night markets for food. Prices are not low, you would find cheaper in a cleaner food court. Lots of fake bags, hats, clothes, shoes, whatever designer you want they probably have a fake version. Starts on Silom Rd and backs into the other side opposite Le Meridien. There’s plenty of ping pong shows and bikini dressed girls dancing in clubs luring in all the tourists. Not a place for kids to view as their doors are wide open. As a female solo traveller, I found the bars seedy and tasteless. There are better street food vendors along Park Silom with low prices and delicious food.
Visual sensory overload. This is night market heaven. It should be noted that many of the items are knock off, but the allure of bartering breathtaking. If possible go twice. Once at night, and then in the day. It is hard to recognize it is the same street
Enjoyed the market. Will go again to explore more. Make sure to check the clothes sizes and make sure you get what you pay for in your bag. Like all markets, make sure to keep your money close to you. Overall, safe.
It was indeed a mistake to visit this place. The street market is utterly useless. The area is a red light district and can be completely avoided.
This was a birthday trip to Silom. I wanted to shop and get some good food, and I wasn’t disappointed. I literally stumbled across this night market. It’s a lot to see. You can negotiate with the vendors. Everything was pretty cheap, I must say.
Had a great time attempting to haggle for real fakes ?. Wandered up and down the stalls looking at everything and then had a DELIGHTFUL Khao Soi from the street food market. As well as some pineapple and rice and skewersTry everything, be polite and enjoy.
