visit during April or May only if you want to walk down to the temple that’s the only time when the water was all the way down, or else you will stay on the boat looking at the half-displayed above the water temple.
I felt like I’m in some movie. So beautiful. It was calm, away from cities. The view of the sunset and far away mountain. If you have money, buy flowers from the people. They are poor. Love the Buddha temple. People make wishes there.
Not much to see here, everything is under water. It’s possible to take pictures, but mostly when you are closer to the parts remaining above the water. There are some traditional houses on your way to this place, which I liked.
To get here you need to hire a boat and boatsman.When we were there there were only about two to three meters of the main building and the drum tower sticking out of the water.
This is the only place left above water when the dam flooded the village. Convenient and inexpensive boat rides are readily available, so many people visit it. We’ve been there 3 times, but it’s never been crowded. An excellent choice for Buddhists and photographers alike!
We took the private boat tour for 300 Baht plus tips. The boat was long tailed. The boat driver took us to see three temples: two in the lake and one on the hill. The tour is about one hour and it is amazing. Highly Recommended.

There are actually several temples and structures that were submerged when the Khao Laem reservoir flooded the area in the 1980s. The temples are fully or partially submerged, depending the water level in the Khao Laem reservoir. When reservoir levels are low, visitors can get off boats and have a look inside the main “underwater” temple. Visitors can get boat transport to see the submerged temple from near the Mon wooden bridge (300-500 baht depending on the number of sites to visit). Another temple located slightly above the high-water line can also be visited; it is relatively plain, but interesting to see as it is being “reclaimed” to some extent by the surrounding strangler fig trees.

It is best to check with the boat operators and the water level to manage your expectations. If water level is too high.
