  1. – if you like history, especially about Ho Chi Minh, this is a place for you- it’s a place where he stayed while he was living in Udon Thani- there are his Vietnamese traditional home, simple bed room, kitchen, gardening tools so you’ll see how he lived- there’s a museum about Ho Chi Minh, if you’re not interested in this part of history, it can be a bit boring- there’s a free tour guide, nice staff- no food or restaurant here, just so you know- far from town about 1 hr drive and it’s not close to the main road – good place to visit but it’s ok if you’ll missed it

  2. The Museum is well set up and a very interesting .We were told that Ho Chi Minh used to walk from this place to Vietnam it was his place he used to plot and plan his next move in the Vietnam war, how true not sure, maybe questionable however it sounded convincing.I have read from various reviews from other sources that in the past this museum needed to be completed.I can say now it is finished and well worth a visit ( Please note: it is a donation not a set fee )The Museum has a lot of information regarding Ho Chi Minh and well laid out .

  3. Ho Chi Minh visited many towns around Thailand before heading back to Vietnam to take on the French, and the Ho Chi Minh museums in Nakhon Phanom are much more interesting than this one. Not really worth the drive out here.

  4. Just 20 km or so out of Udon Thani, Ho Chi Minh had one of the 10 or so places he visited and lived in around Thailand. Keep your enemy close was his mantra – and he certainly did here as there was a huge USAF base in Udon Thani during the Vietnam War. The Thai government sought close relations with the USA during the war but the people tended to support the struggle of the Vietnamese people. This museum has a lot of photos of Ho, his life and story but the real success of this place is the personal guide you get around the museum. You learn so much more from this interaction than looking at and reading those photos with English explanations. Exhibits are in Thai and Vietnamese with a few in English. Only about 20 minutes from downtown Udon Thani. Well signposted unlike some other Thai sites. Also has reconstructed house and other outbuildings in which Ho lived during his visits here.

  5. The proverbial hidden gem. It sits a few kilometres out of town and private transport is recommended. There is an eclectic mix of objects on show, as well as an interactive audio visual display. It is a two (2) level museum with most of the material on the second floor. Beautiful gardens with monuments, trees, ponds and Ho Chi Minh’s residence. It is great for history buffs like yours truly, but well worth checking out for all types of tourists (see my YouTube) visiting the Udorn Thanee province.

  6. Museum of photographs of Ho Chi Minh and artifacts from the time period when he lived in the Udon Thani area. The docent who greeted up was very knowledgeable about the display materials in the newer display building and it was an interesting refresher on the life of Minh both when he was living in Thailand and some of his other adventures.

  7. It is interesting to know that Ho Chi Minh lived and taught here in the early years. I lived under the assumption that the park was finished. That turned out not to be the case. A considerable part has yet to be realized. The old stilt houses with stable and some outbuildings together with the school building give an impression of what that must have been like. There is of course also a museum where you can see a lot of photos. There is a friendly attendant who will be happy to show you around. It is likely that all this will be a more interesting place to learn something of Ho Chi Minh’s history after the plans are realized.
