  1. Sea Farming Demonstration Unit kungkrabaen bayNot to be mistaken with Kung Krabaen Aquarium but in very close vicinity. Unfortunately all the information is written in Thai but you will get the gist of it. Before walking down the pier there is a small stall where you can purchase food bait very cheaply and if you don’t well you will miss the fun and surprises. For want of a better word you will see corrals at the end of the pier and as you walk past them they appear empty, now is the time for the bait. If you have a partner make sure they have the camera ready then toss a few little fish in and within seconds you will be surprised at what rises to the bait. Half the fun is not knowing what species are in each corral and when they break the water surface it can be a wow moment so make sure the camera is there and ready as they will disappear just as quick as they arrive. I was surprised how deep the water is there but obviously deep enough to hide some of these rather large chaps. An umbrella or hat is recommended and enjoy the fun.

  2. Spent a lot of time here because I was doing some volunteering with the center. Very cool place with many species to see! Sometimes there are demonstrations if there’s a tour group (much more helpful if you speak Thai) but you can see some cool things such as releasing crab eggs from the parent crab to re-release into habitat or making artificial oyster houses

  3. When we went there it was not a Wednesday, so unfortunately, we could not buy any food to feed the creatures – we were especially looking forward to the turtles and we were not disappointed. Beautiful creatures, looked after in a relatively small enclosures but maintained and easy to access. Not a lot for other tourists to see, so advisable to go on Wednesday when the food is being sold, then you could make the most of it and possibly get a demonstration if a tour group is nearby.

  4. We were there on a rainy day, so the water was muddy and we almost did nit see anything. But even imagining it with good weather probably not so impressive. It has around 15 cages in the water.

  5. Visited the Sea Farming Unit in the afternoon. Fish were. Little lazy but the seabass and the Cruders were fit for fight for some sardines, bougth at the Unit. Entrance free and the visit was a good experience and gave insight in the various types of fish and turtles.Absolutely recommendable.

  6. It is nice for a short visit if you are visting the mangroves near by. The fish were quite lively and ate the fish you dropped quickly. The Bull Sharks were a highlight.

  7. It was awesome we got to see how they raise the animals and how they rated animals and we also got to feed some of the animals it was very informative and it was very educational I would suggest anybody that wants to learn about how they incorporate and manage marine life to go check this exhibit out very informative

  8. The sea farming demo unit is quite interesting. It has several large fish pens, with a big variety of fish and sea turtles. You have to be patient and watchful to see the fish, but they eventually come to the surface and give opportunity to view. The best time to visit in on the two days of the week they allow feeding of the fish (I think Wednesdays and Saturdays). Then, of course, the fish aggressively come to the surface to get food. Another free attraction, although a local offering parking charges 20 baht. A great place for kids!

  9. At first glance guy would think it’s a bit run down but really it’s all about the animals and there welfare which it’s top rated. All the Animals look extremely healthy , well cared for and happy. The place is perfect, experts staff who care for the animals and guests. We had a great experience for the swimmers and our kids loved it . Will go back for sure and it’s a hidden treasure.
