  1. Made an effort went by bicycle to visit this place as I’m interested and collect orchids myself. very few native orchids in flower on display, supplemented with a load of what looked like shop bought phalaenopsis flowers. not very well documented or labelled. quite scruffy. nobody around to give information either. leaflets/information sheets on counter but none in English.butterflies better, but not outstandingan enthusiastic conservator would try much harder. no discount in price for visiting both as read happened with previous visitorsnot worth the time or effort to visit unless it improves

  2. Lots of beautifull butterflies, but the orchid garden was a bit of a disapointment. Very cheap local attraction.

  3. We visited the orchid and butterfly garden this morning and had a wonderful time. We got a taxi from the hotel and the driver waited for us at the gardens then drove us back. All for 500 baht. He knew where the garden was but if not sure take a screen shot of the address to show. The gardens were a hidden gem. The owners take great care and price in their orchids and butterflies and showed us round. We grow orchids at home and know how difficult some are to keep. We loved seeing the native Thai orchids and the more recognisable hybrid varieties were lovely too. Don’t go expecting manicured gardens and everything out in flower. This is a natural environment and so if you go expecting this you will be disappointed. The butterfly area was beautiful. Full of lots of different varieties and we were lucky enough to see an atlas moth which had just hatched. It was huge! We were sceptical reading some of the reviews but so glad we went. We love plants and it was lovely to see the hard work the owners have done to preserve native species.

  4. Small and friendly, limited variety of butterflies but nonetheless enjoyable. An hour visit tops. Staff friendly. Small gift shop attached.

  5. nice walk around the orchids and butterfly’s, not very busy, very interesting, watch out for the cats, don’t try to stroke them!

  6. Sadly, I have to agree with the poor reviews on this site. It was poorly arranged in every possible sense. Not well signposted, with a small high sign that was easy to miss (luckily the taxi driver knew where it was), and a scruffy, uncared for look to the entrance which was down a short track. A hut was the entrance building and an old Thai lady (the only person there) who spoke no English, took our money and then led us through the first part of a garden (which was the nicer part) to two fenced off sections behind. One of these, very bare and uninteresting, was the orchid garden, where there were a few flowers in bloom. There were no signs or labels on any plants, so you had no idea what you were looking at. Walking around them took 10 minutes at most. Next door was the butterfly section, closed in to prevent them flying away of course. However, although there were some butterflies and plenty of plants, there was again very little in the way of information, no names of butterflies that you might see etc. It turned out that the butterflies we saw were pretty much all common to the area, as we saw quite a few more of them during our stay nearby. The exit was back through the same separate garden that you entered through, and was more interesting and attractive than the ones you were visiting! The combined cost was 250 baht each, I think, but you would need to be fairly desperate for something to do to bother with this and I didn’t think it was worth the money. I feel bad giving this place a bad review, but with a little bit of effort and intiative, it could be greatly improved.

  7. We stopped here for 45 mins on our way back from coconut Beach. 45 mins are more than sufficient. We were greeted by a lovely elderly lady who did not speak much English. But that did not stop us from communicating with each other. She showed us around and we were given a booklet in Danish with information on the butterflies. Booklets were available in many different languages. On the wall where the orchids are was information about the orchids. If you expect an European standard garden then you will be disappointed. It was rustic, rough but still had a charm and was beautiful. We all loved the butterflies who were actually very friendly and sat on us if we stood still. The orchids were beautiful too. So many types are tiny to big and a range of colours. We purchased one bottle with tiny orchid inside it on sale there. She wrapped the bottled with a small pamphlet with instructions. We were also given coconut rusk so we can grow it. We look forward to seeing if it will grow.

  8. To get to the butterfly enclosure first you need to navigate through what looks like someones backyard which is the orchid garden but is infested with mosquitoes. Definitely avoid during wet season.

  9. fantastic, beautiful, great atmosphere. Just outstandingly beautifulPretty butterflies, they land on you, be careful because they might bite.

  10. We visited during May.. rainy time. It was wet, muddy, covered in spiders and tons and tons of mosquitos!!! And I mean tons…not enough Deet made to keep these buggers away. My granddaughter got eaten alive. It’s small… unkempt, and way to expensive. Has a small netted area with a small amount of butterflies. Would not bother at all to stop by.
