We did the 2-day tour option, and it was absolutely incredible. Day 1 (5 stars) Giving an elephant a mud bath and washing it off in the river, and feeding it treats was a beautiful memory created with my 11 and 9 year old daughters and husband. The bamboo raft down the river was peaceful and so lovely with spectacular views. Ending our day overnight at the Treehouse Resort was such a cute and unique experience. Day 2 (4 stars): The second day, we visited the emerald pool and navigated the canoes – which we were terrible at steering. It was all part of the fun and what an incredibly beautiful and peaceful environment to explore. The boat ride had up-close views of the incredible mountains of Khao Sok. Our tour guide wasn’t clear about where we were going or how long it was going to take, so this was a bit difficult for us to help our children feel safe and secure. We also didn’t realize we were visiting the cave in the middle of this trip, so a bit of confusion there too and we would have chosen different footwear if we had known. The visit to the floating restaurant was lovely and happened at just the right time.Pros: the pacing and spectacular beauty that we experienced made this an unforgettable 2 days with incredible memories shared. I cannot express how glad I am that we booked this trip and were able to see the beauty of so many places up close. Cons: a written itinerary with timings and destinations would be helpful to help travelers visualize the day and help parents emotionally prepare their kids. The boat ride was particularly loud and long and my daughters had a difficult time with it. We just didn’t realize how long it would take and the noise made it feel longer. If we had realized how loud it would have been, we would have brought noise-cancelling headphones. Additionally, there were a few times we had to change clothes, but it wasn’t always clear when and where this would happen. We didn’t realize our suitcases would travel with us, so we could have been more relaxed about which clothes to bring on the trip.Overall: a very well-thought out and considered itinerary I am so thrilled to have enjoyed this trip and Khalak Tour Plan has created a truly memorable, once-in-a-lifetime experience in such a short time. As mentioned, since it was such a dynamic, action-packed trip, timings of how long certain things would take and when/where we would change clothes would have helped us better prepare our family for what was happening next. I believe these simple suggestions will only improve an already incredible experience.
First of all, we were supposed to join a group tour (max 8 pax). KhaoLak Tour Plan proceeded with the tour even though we (3 of us) were the only ones that signed up – so it was practically a private tour for us! We enjoyed the bamboo rafting as it was very serene and quiet going downstream, and the eagle-eyed persons who did the rafting pointed out many mangrove cat snakes that were sleeping on the tree branches that we passed by. We got to Lampi Waterfall early to avoid the crowds and got to enjoy the pool by the falls with 1 or 2 other tourists. Oil, our enthusiastic and cheerful guide is very passionate about Turtle conservation and knew almost all juvenile/adult turtles at the conservation center – one’s fin was bitten off, one had a deformed shell that affected its swimming in deep waters etc etc. Oil kept us entertained throughout the trip with her stories and even lent my wife her pair of crocs for the rafting and Lampi waterfall. All in all, a great experience for my family!

Hubby and i were booked onto the bamboo rafting half day tour.Sadly I can’t remember the name of the lovely lady that drove us but she was great from start to finish. She also provided water at all stops and the first stop we had some fruit which in the climate of Khao Lak its always appreciated. We didn’t think we had booked a private tour but maybe we did but it was just hubby and I which was amazing.I think we got picked up about 8am and went to the rafting first. We were the only ones on the river at the time we did it. Didn’t see another soul. Our raft guide down the river pointed out all the birds and creatures along the way. He had great eyesight. We got off for a swim aswel.We then headed to a waterfall and again not a soul around until we were about to leave. We felt very lucky as these places could have been really busy.It was so nice to swim at the bottom of the waterfall. With the fish! Eak. Loved it!Our last stop was the turtle sanctuary which was also a great little stop. Obviously busier here and nearly midday by the time we got there. We really enjoyed this half day tour. It was extremely well organised and we were back in the hotel pool by 1pm. What more could you ask.Really reccomend this tour group
Very friendly through the trip. Quad biking was fun good for novice, not adrenaline junky. Waterfalls great lovely to swim. Each stop had good facilities all areas easy excess.
Beautiful country, views amazing. Our guide was absolutely lovely. However, although the trip is advertised as suitable for up to 80 years old, it wasn’t. The visit to the caves felt dangerous and an accident waiting to happen. Also, the food we were served was not of the standard we received on other trips
