The museum is opposite to Mae Klong river. It’s basic museum that represent about historical of Ratchaburi. But it’s an old style presentation with a presentation board and a lot of text. A thing that make me a bit impress is the building because the museum is an historic building. You can go there if you have a plenty of time.
This museum is one of the best museums that I have visited in Thailand. The description of all exhibits are in both English and Thai. The Museum traces the history of the local area.
If you would like to know the history of Ratchaburi here you will know all. Don’t miss to work around to touch with local life.
Has artifacts and information from the Dvaravati, Khamer, Sukothai, Ayutthaya and Ratanakosin periods in both Thai and English. Good for planning local trips around the province based on its history, places of worship and culture.
I was pleased that we had stopped here and found that there were many interesting and absorbing exhibits. It was especially relevant in terms of the history of the local and adjacent Ratchaburi and Phetchaburi areas.
The Thai I went with was very enthusiastic, but I found it moderately interesting to see the history of the region. The part I liked was about the origin of the Ratchaburi people, who came from China, the middle-east, Burma and various other localities. There was some modern art in the garden, but just a few pieces.
