  1. Rode our scooter and motorbike to base, climbed to top in the middle of the day in June, not recommended, it was very hot. Good views over Loei and surrounding area to get a perspective on where you are and surrounds. Not much in the way of temples on the way up. Toilets at base.

  2. This is one of the best lookout areas I have been to in Thailand (and I’ve been to a lot!!). On a clear day you can see forever in all directions over rolling mountains. It is not a long walk as you can get most of the way by car. The air is clean and crisp and it is close to Muang Loei. Out of all the things to do in Loei, this has to be number 1 !!.

  3. If you’re strong enough for hiking, try to climb up on top then nice Loei view in your eyes. It’s not far from Loei City center – about 2 Km.

  4. I’m not actually the sporty type so I was quite exhausted when I got to the top. The view was amazing, it was worth it so I don’t regret going at all! The best time to go there is in the morning, also in the cold season.

  5. My wife and I walked from town to the entrance of the park. The first third of the path was concrete steps and the last third metal stairs. The middle was a little tougher with dirt, rocks and some paving. All in all you require an upper medium level of fitness and some water.A cave shrine is a stopping point at 350 metres up where water is available by an honesty box. The view from up top is great even on a hazy day.Plenty is signage encouraging keeping the site free of rubbish appear to be working.

  6. If you’re feeling energetic you might want to take this steep hike up the mountain overlooking Loei. You’ll be worn out when you reach the top but the views are spectacular on a clear day.

  7. The first flight of stairs looks inviting until one reaches about about midway that jellied legs for the untrained surfaced. At this point one can go even higher where there is a concave with cold drinks (free) as a pit-stop near the top. From there, another push and another much smaller concave bare besides a bench and the journey is 95% done. The view on top along with the infrastructure is great, perfect for sunset. Do get down early as coming down with wobbly legs (even with rest) is no joke. Besides mosquito will start appearing along with poor lighting makes the climb down at sundown even more dangerous than the way up.

  8. Dec 07, 2021 tried a visit today. As the only visitors we were informed by a polite ranger that the parc was temporarily closed while undergoing construction and repairs. The ranger recommended Phu Pha Lom Parc, roughly 20 km away.See review there. They should at least put a sign at the access road about the parc being closed. So, we wouldn’t have to drive along a narrow road for 2.5 km in vain.

  9. After being closed for about a year for a much needed makeover, Phu Bo Bit has reopened. The new pathway is very nice and in addition is well lit if you are going up for the sunrise or coming down after sunset. The view in all directions is incredible. The climb is not too difficult, but it will get your heart pumping. Reaching the summit is well worth it. We enjoyed a lunar eclipse on the night of Loy Krathong from one of the best viewpoints in Mueang Loei.

  10. Challenging for me , 69 years old and out of breath but I made it and views were goodSteps are in very good condition and I am glad I did it
