  1. This is your basic provincial Thai temple with non-existent landscaping and a single main building housing the primary Buddha image, although this is regarded as the most sacred in the province. I personally abhor temples with concrete parking surrounding the main building, which this temple was, but did appreciate the beauty of the Buddha image. I spent some time reading the history signboard which was interesting. If you come to Nong Khai and would like to pay homage to the province’s holy site before continuing your journey, Wat Phra Chao Ong Tue is the place you should first visit.

  2. Phra Chao Ong Tue is the name of the Buddha image at this temple. Unless you are Buddhist and practice The Thai way, the Buddha image will be just another one you have seen in many places. If you are Buddhist and traveling around Thailand, this place is worth to stop by and pay respect to the famous image.

  3. If you visited Nong Khai west area, this will be the best choice of must visit temple. More special temple structure. From main road 211, turn left in Rural Road 3135, just right across the Nam Mong River.

  4. There will be another temple that is a pair of temples built. of Wat Luang Pho Ong Tue. Every time Wat Ong Tue holds an annual event on the last day of the event, the temple must come and light a bonfire at Tham Temple (Ya Ngam), which is considered a majestic temple of Wat Luang Pho Ong Tue. Just one place.
