There is a deaf man who is about half-way down the Saturday walking street on the right side if you come in at the Gate. He has a sign with the price of the t-shirts as he can’t speak. The shirts we found were the most reasonable in price – 100B for a CM style and more for another style. The shirts were not really thin like some others, but a decent weight. There is no bargaining, but the price is fair, especially when you compare to others.
I love visiting this market. I visit at least once when staying in the area. It’s a local market with local produce, prepared food and crafts, along with the other commercial products available at any market. I most enjoy simply strolling through the market taking in the sights and sounds. There are couple of small “street” restaurants that set up along the way which provide a good vantage point for watching crowds drift by.
Saturday walking street very nice place to visit in evening time in Sankamphaeng. Enjoy your street food Handicraft item phone japanse food second hand item Vegetable and all you needed.
As indicated in the subject, it’s worth to check it out if you are near, but you would be better off visiting the night Bazar. The waking street is really crowded and most of the goods sold are cheap souvenirs. You can find places to eat for every budget, but you have to be prepared to wait for your food due to the may people. You can find quite good deals on cheap t-shirts like for 50baht, if you need one.
Saturday market that takes over the Main Street, from afternoon to evening. Very pleasant stroll will give the sights sounds and aroma of the Thai life
What a wonderful, brought and thriving Market this was. it was busy but the crowd kept moving along, different live music along the market. there was everything from pouches, wallets, soaps, perfumes, bags shoes clothes and so much food wonderful, beautiful food, sweets or savory. even as a Westerner I was able to look at the pictures and work out what food was, the smells amazing, you could not have a better Saturday evening immersed in Thai culture and it’s free!
This market really gets going about 5pm but if you come a bit earlier you can have a look at the silver shops and temple as this is the silver district. Not as crowded as the Sunday market or as touristy as the night bazaar and plenty of reasonable quality clothes and food.
very nice Market who begins at 5 pm….many local products from good quality & cheap pricei really like to go there…..better than sunday market…and at the end of the street, u will visit the Silver temple….wonderful in the night.
I was in Chiangmai in Nov last year and again after 6 months i.e. June this year, just because it’s really a nice little city with a lot of attractions especially the Night Bazaar on every Saturday. This is what you must not miss if you come to Chiangmai. There are so much to choose from souvenir to local street food and much much more! Experience it yourself otherwise you don’t really have been in Chiangmai. Don’t miss it !!!
