  1. Gorgeous grounds and fascinating to watch glass sculpture and furniture making in progress. I imagine it would have been an even greater experience with everything open. April must be an off season, as the florin market was closed, and almost everything was deserted. Still, the gallery and store was open. The master works on display were incredible, and I was able to find some affordable and lovely gifts.

  2. About an hour’s drive north from Bangkok, you can take the 3rd stage expressway all the way to the last exit at Bang Pa-In. Turn left off the expressway onto Highway 9 (the Western Outer Ring Road), and continue until you get to the bridge crossing the Chao Phraya river. Don’t go on the bridge but u-turn under it, and then turn left onto Route 3309. Keep going and you will see the massive Bang Sai Center on the left. Alternatively you could also turn right when you got off the expressway (towards Bang Pa-In), turn left into Route 347 then left again onto 3442. The Center is so big you need to bring your car in to drive around. Buy an entrance ticket at the gate, double tier pricing for Thais & foreigners. There are multiple warehouses inside each housing a workshop of a specific art (wood-carving, metal working, leather working, etc.), an aquarium, a bird park. My recommendation would be to visit the main building (Sala Mingkwan) which sells the genuine handicraft products on the Ground floor, made by the Center’s craftspeople at very reasonable prices, and has exhibition halls on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Center’s masterpieces. An exhibit of pottery figurines by one of the Center’s “alumni” was amazing, life-like detail on figures just a few inches high. If you have time, another part of the Center to see is the Arts Village, which consist of traditional wooden houses from different regions arranged around a lake. There are some crafts sold under the houses too.

  3. This was not well attended and it should be, seems setup for buses but did not see any. If you have a Thai speaker in your group you can wander through many different craft shops and get information from the artists. Crafts we saw were Silk weaving, Basketry, Embroidery, Sculpture, Glass sculpture, Stained glass, Batik, and metal works. There is also a Thai village with Thai houses you could wander through representing the different styles of houses in different regions of the country arranged around a pretty lake. There is a separate huge gift shop to buy the crafts produced at the center.

  4. If you are looking for souvenir from hand crafts, this would be the place I recommended. As you can got such a variety of them starting from silk, bags, etc.It is also worth it to spend sometime to walk around to visit the school area where you will see a lot of incredible crafts. They all are willing to show you however it is best to go with a person who can speak Thai if you would like know more about the school as there is still some language barrier.Very worth visiting!

  5. We stopped here on the way home from Atuttuya. It is difficult to find the actual entrance to the craft center. We parked by the north east village but had to walk through a muddy area to get to the actual craft center. The signage even in Thai is not very clear. The actual arts and craft centre is a huge huge building. There are lots of stalls inside but it seems as if the building overwhelms the crafts. We found the prices to be quite good compared to other markets. One review stated it seems a little sad. The building is gorgeous but it seems as if there isn’t quite enough maintenance to the park area. Maybe because it is a little out of the way there are not a lot of people shopping here. It’s too bad because there are some interesting things to see.

  6. This is an excellent place to purchase Thai items from Thai silk to handmade enamel pins. Prices are very reasonable and it is staffed by ladies who are very helpful. I have been there on both of my last two trips and plan on going back in 2019.

  7. Lots of reviews of this wonderful facility. I need not elaborate. However, strangely there are no photos showing the Centre from its best perspective – the river!See attached.
