Mae Ram Phueng Beach is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking Thailand
long beach and mainly thai people.most areas are for restaurant visitors as their own chairs–but ok if you order drinks or food otherwise reasonable charge made.beach is not the cleanest !!!! much food and drink debris in sea and on shore from locals who frequent area .very busy on weekends with locals but no problems.
I live not far from Mae Ram Phueng Beach and every morning at dawn I do a six kilometer walk up and down it with my two dogs.I have reviewed this beach in the past, normally to point out how much rubbish accumulates on it. But lately the authorities seem to have been more diligent in cleaning it up.For the past few weeks, however, there has been another problem.A brownish-green scum is being washed ashore. When there is an ebb tide the scum lies on the beach, turning a dark brown as it dries.I do not know what it is, but it has a chemical smell and is definitely not a natural oceanic bloom.I would strongly recommend that you do not swim here until this problem is identified and cleared up.
This is a beautiful 12kms long beach and right opposite to the many resorts that are on the beach road..its a long strectch of the beach
Probably very popular some decades ago when tourist boom 💥 started in Thailand 🇹🇭. There are few big hotels 🏨 and some resort otherwise millions or small bungalows, hostels, restaurants and street sellers. Between beach 🏝 and road there is belt of trees 🌲 making nice daily shadow. Place is not perfectly clean as it is public, you can rent recliner or bed on the beach 🏖. Many street seller offering stings, snacks, ice cream 🍦 or meal 🥘.
… but now we get only a 50/50 chance for a clean beach. This beach is amazing long about 12 km , quiet and 5 years ago also clean. At the last 5 years the beach got more and more wasted, because of thai plastic items and bottles….
Chill out on the nice beach. Go to Island Koh Samet and snorkel. Enjoy swimming in Thailands gulf. It is of the beaten tourist tracks and very relaxed. The sea is clean and the beach is sandy. Different attractions around.
This beach reminds me of Baja Mexico in the 1980’s. Mostly Thai people come here. Beaches are long and relatively clean. only a moderate amount of development so the beaches are almost empty during the week. Motorbike or bicycle is handy (rent) to get around. restaurants and bars can be far apart. I come here 6 times a year or more. Most other beaches leave me wanting to come back here 🙂
I live at this beautiful and peaceful beach with its friendly beach dogs and nifty squirrels that live in the tall trees that line the beach. It is mainly visited by locals from Rayong and Bangkok on the weekend, so it’s nice and quiet during the week. Everyone is friendly – the 711 makes great coffee and there are plenty of places along the beach to eat. The Belgian baker at the southern end of the beach does a great line in bread and pastries too. It’s a lovely spot for a coffee and pastry, or to have some dinner and watch the sunset.Although I love the sea I don’t swim much here as the water can be filmy and dirty at times. I recommend covering up with a rashie or stinger because of the jellyfish risk and beware of the rip currents in the off-season. Yes, at certain times of the year, the sea does throw at times substantial rubbish onto the beach, mainly fishing and household waste but I have also encountered hypodermic needles so be careful. This is unfortunately the case in many countries now. I have seen and been part of diligent local efforts to keep the beach clean, so please don’t blame the locals. They do their best but we just cannot compete with a dirty planet and what the sea throws up every day.
Awesome place to come, when it’s hot everywhere else. There is always a nice cool breeze here, on the beach, with many restaurants to choose from. We have been coming here for years and are happy to see, that the beach restaurant owners are finally starting to clean up some of the garbage, that the tide brings in every night. Our favorite place to sit and eat, right on the beach, is Sompong Restaurant, which is close to the places we usually stay (Wellington Hotel or Sharky Home)Awesome sunsets here, too, but the thing I love most, is the cool breeze every day. We have been to many beaches in Thailand, Including quite a few islands, but for overall comfort, food experience, nice sandy beach and cool breezes, this is definitely the place to come!
ชอบที่นี่มากค่ะ มาเป็นครั้งที่2แล้ว ทะเลสวย บรรยากาศดี อาหารอร่อย ราคาไม่แพงด้วยค่ะI really like it here. It’s my second time here. The sea is beautiful, the atmosphere is good, the food is delicious, and the price is not expensive.
