  1. This Stupa is great looking. Inside you can see through bars that there are four Buddha footprints being protected by the stupa. You cannot go inside of the stupa, but you can see inside. There are two beautiful gold Buddha images. Very nice, worth the visit for sure….

  2. A very good temple and associated buildings. Well worth a visit.Close to town so easy to get to.Lose yourself in thought for an hour.

  3. Clean and well manage temple. It gets quite hot during the day especially if you have to walk barefeet, do wear a socks!

  4. Last month I went to pay homage to this sacred pagoda in Sakon Nakhon. The first time in 2007 I went in the evening so I couldn’t see much and, for me, it was just another old pagoda in a province. But this time I went in the morning and had a totally different experience. Apart from our group of 4, there was hardly anyone else. But the joss stick and candle sets as well as flower sets were already arranged by the pagoda staff. We had the place to ourselves and experience the serenity in this pagoda. It reminded of my visits to pagodas in Yangon where I worked over 10 years ago. Not the part that one had to take off the shoes before entering the place (in Myanmar one has to take off the shoes when one enters any pagoda area), but the peace of mind from serenity and sacredness of the place.Inside a small temple adjacent to the pagoda, we paid homage to an ancient and unique Buddha Image. It has mixed periods artistic styles unlike most Buddha Images in Thailand. In general, It was of Chiang Saen style, but the flame on its head was of Laos style while the face was of Sukhothai style. The place was very clean and well maintained. There are two big signs describing the pagoda and the Buddha Image. Unfortunately they were only in the Thai language.

  5. I’ve lived for 3 years, Sakon Nakhon. And I used to go to the temple often. Every day there will be people dressed in white came to pray and meditate. It is a very impressive at that time because I had never seen before. I was a Catholic who had the opportunity to join the school. It is very impressive to me. But there are things that should be improved is the vendors inside the temple, making the landscape look bad.

  6. Being a buddhist in the uk I was keen to visit a temple in thailand. This temple is very impressive, easy to find and definitely worth a visit.Limited English with monks but they were happy to see me at temple and made sure they gave me a blessing which was kind

  7. This temple is all about That Choeng Chum, the symbol of Sakhon Nakhon city and province. This 24-metre high elegant spire is designed in a Laotian style. This part of Thailand was part of the Vientiane kingdom for long periods of history. Indeed, this is one of the finest Lao-style chedis you will find on either side of the Mekong. Around the chedi, you will find a Rattanakosin-style Thai temple with white walls and green, gold and red roofs. It is a sacred place for Thai people and the chedi remains highly venerated. Don’t miss the small white building near the chedi. It has two, fine Lao-style Buddhas and some old wall paintings.

  8. Absolutely beautiful in my view. A real must visit, well looked after . A very spiritual place , best I’ve seen so far

  9. Temple of the City of Sakon Nakhon If you come to Nakhon Nakhon, you must come to worship Phra That Choeng Chum. Every Saturday and Sunday afternoon there is a Pha Khram Road. to walk and choose good products of the province

  10. Quiet temple in late afternoon The gold gilded roof was gorgeous during golden hour. Must remove shores before entering. Free entrance
