Buddha Statue is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking Wat Khao Takiab, Thailand
Can be reached either by Takiap Road or the beach. The Buddha statue (about 20 meters high) can be seen already from a great distance. Some smaller shops offering refreshments or food but that’s it already. Only few people and most of them will not go anyfurther than to the Buddha statue. You also have a nice view over the beach towards Hua Hin.We visited the rest of the area as well but that’s another story…
Large gold budda on a rock plinth at the end of Hua Hin, accessable either at low tide from ground level or walking up a road to the top the the hill. Plenty of monkey mess, bit run down but worth a visit
Only a little way up but there will be a great G & T waiting for you near the top. Be careful if the monkeys are about.
Lots of interesting items here apart from the big Buddha statue. Remarkably life like statues of monks and each nook and cranny shows something new and worth seeing, All this beside wonderful views of the sea. Just one small word for the elderly – parts of the long passage through the are very slippery.
The Buddha looks most impressive and the setting, overlooking the beach makes this a very special photo spot
been there several times you have a nice lake with you can walk around and you can clime the mountain and have a great view over the area. there a small harbor and a large statue
15 minutes beach walk from my hotel to buddha…not too many steps to climb but worth it.nice surroundings and nice views of beach and beyond
We walked the long way round via the temple on monkey mountain & via the steepest set of steps I’ve ever encountered! The signage is poor to figure out where you’re going but Google maps to the rescue, we made it! With literally only 11 steps through the sea to reach the main town again, unless you love monkeys who’ll try & steal any food/drinks you have, go across the beach rather than going up & over the hill. The sight itself is cool but not as impressive as we felt it should be for the effort it’d taken to reach it.
It was a bit of a walk to find the Golden Buddha who sits at the far end of Hua Hin beach. I could see the Buddha but google maps couldn’t show me how to reach it. I ended up crossing a field, then down an alley onto the beach & then across the beach – check the tides. A few steps up & you have great views all along the beach & there is golden Buddha. Watch out for monkeys in this area. Don’t feed them they can be quite aggressive!
I have a back and leg problem from an injury. So I summed up all my might to climb these steps and cross a river and an ocean to see this magnificent statue that had been towering over me in HuiHin. I read other reviews and prepared for an almighty walk. My Grab driver took the most unusual route and dropped em right off. Yes there were steps but it wasn’t that bad and each step had someone’s ashes on the side. There was a donation price and you payed what you could afford. I prayed and cried and picked out a piece of paper blowing in the wind that guided me to exactly what was on my mind. 360 views. Lovely breeze, amazing attention to detail and maybe not as grand as some others but to me it was the most meaningful
