Sunset Beach is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking Thailand
This beach is ok. You really have to pick the right place to see it. It’s not the romantic picturesque sunset you imagine but it’s romantic and beautiful enough to do a couple of times.
Definitely needs to visit plus there is a very chic bar called Zodiac there…a must go so chill while watching the Sunset
A nice beach which is not very long. A few expensive resorts at one end. A quiet beach perfect for just chilling out. Best part is very few boats park here. Just don’t expect to see the sun actually setting.
Dirty and not kept clean by he few resorts that line this beach unlike Sunrise Beach that is clean and well maintained by the resorts that are on it
Amazing place to watch the sun set on Ko Lipe – sadly only spoilt by a woman so determined to hear the sound of her own voice on her phone 🤬
I stayed at the Bay View Sunset resort which I can’t recommend, but it is located right in front of this wonderful beach, the best for snorkeling. You can see many species and lots of coral, the water is very visible and mild temperature, the sand is half white and half black on this side of the island. Many crustaceans live among the rubbish and the fallen leaves of the mangroves. I loved snorkeling, I spent many hours in the water watching the marine life of rare beauty, swimming a lot and picking up rubbish from the sea…I filled up rubbish bags and 100lt that I would ask the restaurant of the resort, sometimes I even forced the young people who worked there to help me, minimum to carry the heavy bags of rubbish.
Sunset Beach is the most beautiful spot for the sunset, as its name suggests! The beach isn’t perfect, the litter gets bad in some seasons but I didn’t see any when I travelled (during February). The beach is more rocky and harder under foot, there are a lot of stairs to get down to it. There are mosquitos in the evening so be prepared. The beach itself is still pretty and has a charm about it! If you want a quiet spot to read a book during the day, this is the one.
The beach is full of rubbish. It’s basically a tip. I don’t know why the locals don’t clean the beach up. The mosquito’s down there are also relentless. My girlfriend and myself got covered in bites.
The overall impression on arrival is good but it goes down from there. The worst thing was the rubbish and broken glass on the beach. The hotel cleans an area but ignores piles of junk and rubbish higher than their deckchairs. There are even pikes of broken furniture at the entrance to the restaurant Further diwn the beach its horrendous, like a wasteground. Our room was small and uncomfortably arranged with an extremely hard mattress. The bathroom had an unstable floor with blown tiles and a dripping tap. Thr rooms situation was next to a noisy staff area with them constantly tramping by. The view would have been lovely if the bushes hadn’t been allowed to grow to block it. The access path to our room had pipes running across it in 2 places, easy to trip over. At dawn and dusk the mosquitos were the worst we have experienced. Not surprisingly we left early and explained to the Receptionist who promised to contact us about a refund but has not done so. What disaster!
