  1. This place really impressed us. It consists of two parts (as I understand it).One part is a built-up area with walkways and pavilions close to the shore. Here you can easily walk around and watch various birds. This area has an entrance fee. Very well prepared and easy to walk.Another part is the actual lake which stretches far out. There is no entrance fee here, but you hire boats to take you out. Price depends on the length of your tour. As with all nature watching, what you see depends on the season. We were told the peak season is March/April. We spent three hours on the lake and every minute of it was interesting.Highly recommended.

  2. Only go during the migration, January-February. I was there in August which is definitely NOT the time to go. Few bird species and the lotus lake wasn’t in bloom. Also, never go there without your own transportation. There is a general lack of tourism infrastructure.

  3. Awesome… Visit early morning. You will love it. You will see birds, water buffalo and the flower blooming

  4. Amazingly peaceful and beautiful place. Great energy, lots of birds, quietness and healing stillness of water will make you feel very good. Highly recommend visiting the place. Lotus only bloom from February till March, but the place is lovely in all seasons.

  5. Our group of 25 wanderlusts came to Thale Noi at the wrong season: the water lilies and birds were rare sights, but to be able to breathe the vast expanse of pollution-free air did a ton of good to our lungs. This is the real Amazing Thailand that the tourists should seek for. The two hours I spent cruising the peaceful lake significantly extended my life span. I shall be back!

  6. One of my best experience in Thailand over many years traveling to the country. Thale Noi is a wonderful lake /marsh, lots of birds, free roaming water buffalo. If you go early, fields of blossoming lotus.

  7. When you visit Phatthalung, one of the main attraction is to go on a longtail boat cruise at Thale Noi to watch the sunrise, ‘yo’ (it is a traditional fishing nets where a giant square-shaped nets are mounted on a wooden frame), the different species of birds and water buffaloes. In some months, you will also see field of pink and red lotus flowers in this water park. I booked this tour through the Sri Pakpra Boutique Resort where I stayed which cost THB1200/boat for a duration of about 2 hours. The longtail boat is able to fit in 6 persons and the tour starts from the pier of the resort itself.

  8. We visited Thale Noi waterbird park as a day trip from Hat yai and it was the best part of our holiday! We were picked up at 6am and arrived in Phatthalung 2.5h later. Took the boat ride and it was very interesting! From the many different species of birds to lotus flowers to water buffaloes. It was super hot so better be covered. My skin got burnt after the boat ride. Paid for 1h but the actual ride was about 1.5h.Suggest to start early when the lotus flowers are in bloom! You can take many beautiful photos. Every angle is perfect!

  9. It seems the ordinary boat trip that you can find all around Thailand lakes or near beaches, to visit Islands around… But It Is not!!!1 hour tour and you can meet lot of different birds, some water buffalos (curious expérience! ) and flowers every where! Nice expérience!!!!
