Corner Bier is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking Than on Sai Ngam , Thailand
A friendly, enjoyable and amusing nice mix of westerners and English speaking Thais. Only food on offer are delicious toasted sandwiches, but local ‘fooderies’ will deliver to the bar of you want to eat something more substantial. The decor is varied and interesting, ranging from ‘Beatles’ album covers, to one of those plastic horns from the S.African olympics. Large selection of English language books, too. Spent a very merry hour or so here. Bar forms one of the outside walls, so seating is both on the street & inside.
If you see a grizzled old biker sitting at the bar, it must be Tam. Tell him Clay and Freddie sent you. Has absolutely the best atmosphere and clientele I have seen. Everyone treats you like long lost friends. Went there for business and this place was right across the street. Went there every day for a month after that. Many nights the bell would not stop ringing. I have been all over the world and this is the friendliest place I may have ever been.
Situated a block from the beach in Songkhla, this little bar is truly Magic! As the drinks flow, the owner, Tam is happy to entertain patrons with a variety of magic tricks!Icy cold beer is served and food can be delivered from a variety of nearby restaurants.Friendly staff with helpful advice make this bar a place to remember!
great people lots of fun . was happy to meet Tam and his son Jackie Hope you get to Chiang Mai soon . Thanks David
The friendliest little bar in Songkhla!Although it is quite small, there is plenty of seating and lots of cold refreshments on offer. While there isn’t a kitchen, menus are available fro surrounding restaurants, which will deliver free of charge. The staff are fantastic and the friendly local clientele guarantee a fun filled night.
Great little bar friendly staff and it’s on the street so you can watch the world go by while having a beer. Also great for a chat with the owner Tam very knowledgeable about the area as he’s been a resident in Songkhla for 20+ years.
So glad I stumbled upon this bar last night, was greeted by friendly faces and made to feel welcome straight away, Tam, the owner is a Scotsman who lived in Songkhla for years, great bloke, ask him to show you his magic tricks, great entertainment, hopefully see you again 1 day Tam, Mike from Hull, Yorkshire ?
The visited Corner Bier four times while I was in Songkhla. The first time it was brilliant; the other three times it was closed. Virtually all of the farang-oriented bars in Songkhla are located along a 450 meter stretch of Thanon Si Suda in the city center. Corner Bier is the second to last bar at the northern end.I visited Corner Bier just before sunset on the day I arrived in Songkhla. It’s a very friendly, relaxing little pub. The conversation flows, the beer is ice cold and the gentle easterly coming in from the sea is really soothing. A second beer quickly becomes a fifth (or was it sixth?). I missed my 7:30pm rendezvous back at the hotel – I’m sure I’m not the first person to incur the wrath of a partner after lingering too long at Corner Bier!I went out on some of my other days and nights in Songkhla, but I never found anything close to this. In fact, it was the reverse. The beer is nowhere as cold, the people are nowhere as friendly and the atmosphere is nowhere as good. I just wish it was open more!(My attached photo is from one of the times it was closed)
The Corner Bier has been around for several years now.Frequented by local Expats and FIFO workers it has plenty of atmosphere & Camaraderie.Prices are good & staff friendly.Very close to other bars & restaurants. While the Corner Bier doesn’t have a kitchen it is very possible to have meals delivered.A great place for a fun night out
Lovely and kind hearted staff!! Went out of their way to help me outNice bar to chill out. Like the vibes!! This is the real Songkhla!!
