Doesn’t offer much except for a farmer’s fruit stall with a good variety of fresh local fruit and two restaurants
Staying down the road and have passed by a couple of times in the evening. Was really sad to see on each occasion baby elephants with their handlers. I think they’re advertising some sort of ‘sanctuary and mainly stand outside the Fisherman restaurant but one hangs out in the plaza. It is NOT cool. They’re only small, have chains around their necks and look super stressed. Please please please stop this cruelty. We heard other tourists at our hotel a few nights ago saying how cruel it was too and now we’ve seen for ourselves. They’re so sweet but don’t deserve to be kept like this for the sake of tourists
Don’t go !!! Was disgusted to see 2 baby elephants tied up to chairs very distressed making awfull noises ! This is not what people want to see anymore ! They were clearly in a lot of distress shaking and rocking !Didn’t stay to eat or drink after seeing this it’s just some tacky shopping plaza
Had dinner nearby – two baby elephants kept out for hours earning baht in the shopping centre at night. Don’t go. Would leave a bad review for the elephant ‘home’ nearby but they don’t have a TripAdvisor page 😡
Its one of the few options you have to go when staying at that area. couple of souvenir shops, mart, local fruit stall, seafood restaurant. They bring in elephants at night so you can feed them at 100baht a plate.
Little shopping center near the Marriott hotelsIt’s quite small with limited shops. Idea for groceries, getting some souvenirs or having different food than the hotel. There is a free shuttle from Renaissance to here every 1h. It’s good for a change of scenery

Please stop abusing elephants. This is a horrible sight where they have elephants tied up in terrible conditions. Please don’t support this place.
This plaza used to be so vibrant, but it has lost almost of its shops to the competion at the Turtle Village shopping area nearby. Mai Khoa Plaza needs to add a few shady benches for visitor seating, some music, and perhaps spend a little money on evening entertainment. The Plaza is currently visitor unfriendly and no reason to go there except for money exchange. I really feel bad for the current shop owners.
Elephant abusing kills the vibe of this place. Not much shops and quiet place. Local restaurant is tempting, but has so horrendous karaoke singer that we couldnt go there. There are fireants at plazas grass, which my wife got lot of painful bites.
