  1. This was also a stop in the Simba Sea tour we booked. Our speedbood went to this litte private PARADISE Beach where we swim around and enjoyed the sun for 30 min. You might get little stings from the little white thing (forgot the name) …

  2. A very beautiful place, where you can enjoy the nature, in love with the sand, water ? and the scene … have small shops selling souvenirs… and have to go there by speedboat or by a cruise, depend on how many people you go, some do rowing ?… a nice place to swim and enjoy nature but less waves than seas in my place ??

  3. Koh Yao Islandis a beautiful island where it has been shot the movie The man with the golden gun and its remake. It is an amazing palce that you can reach through a classic thai boat insofar the beach is small and you can not go there by speed or big boats.Unfortunately the island is full of souvenirs huts. They are a little bit annoying.

  4. We went for 4 nights. It’s approx 20 minute boat ride from the marina in Phuket. Nice Island just to relax on. Not so much there is terms of night life. I would recommend an overnight if going.

  5. We loved this rustic Island. The hotel is huge and a bit of a tourist processing machine but …. it’s beautiful and in an amazing location. We took an ocean view suite with the outside bath… loved it! Excellent food quality and nice people as always in Thailand. The spa is nice but a bit rushed to “process” the customers. Food and beverage prices are about 4 X Thai prices but that’s to be expected at a resort I suppose. It’s not a far walk to the village where we enjoyed the same food at a fraction of the price. The chef even leant us his scooter for 200 Baht! The people of Ko Yao Yai are very nice. Don’t come here to party though. The 7-11 wont sell alcohol as it’s a Muslim Island. Some restaurants do make an amazing gin and tonic and the beer is cold! Would definitely recommend this island for a few days to chill.

  6. amazing people, not touristy and empty beaches. don’t expect any acitivities besides visiting neighbour islands whch are amazing!

  7. Koh Yao Yai is larger as its sister island Koh Yao Noi. 90 % of the population are Muslims. Koh Yao Yai is not so popular as Koh Yao Noi and therefore does not have so many facilities like the sister island. But the beaches are great!

  8. Wow. Have been heading off to quiet bits of Phuket for years and am generally a fan of islands. The quiet bits of Phuket are getting very hard to find so we opted for a few days on Ko Yao Yai and what an utter joy to find real rural tranquility and wonderful road side eateries. Be warned, beer can be hard to find but great food, simplicity and tranquility are in abundance. Oh and we took two separate high speed boat transfers between Ban Rong and the island. Both high speed. Both 300 Baht per person but one without a life jacket in sight. Will post some more reviews when I get home to my island! Bye for now.

  9. Excellent Beach with crystal clear water. Ideal for swimming and water activities. One of the must go around Phuket and Thailand.
