  1. Great hike for any outdoorsy type or seasoned hiker, it is an easy ramble. I am 62 and did not have a problem, and I am getting fat and lazy. But for the rest of us…It is still a 1400m hike up hill or 1.4 Kilometer and a round trip of say 3 kilometers! And it gets steep at times…You might need both hands and feet to navigate the more difficult areas. I had a few people that wanted to turn back and met a family from India that were struggling, I encourage them on with only 500m to go. Still, it is well worth the pain, and there is no danger. The treat at the end when you arrive at the falls is a swim and shower. With COVID you may very well have the place to yourselves………………

  2. A steep climb of 1,400 meters through the gorgeous jungle on a well-maintained trail yields a lovely waterfall setting. Have lunch sitting in the stream afterward.

  3. Beautiful waterfall after a hot and challenging walk through rainforest. Lots of mosquitoes, rough path including wobbly bridges and some river crossing requiring jumping over slippery rocks. Not suitable for young kids, elderly, anyone with mobility issues.

  4. After reading through some reviews I thought it was going to be a long and hard trek to reach the waterfall…it was not though. Drove up on a scooter from Chiang Rai, which took around 35mins. We left around 7.20 and arrived by 8am just when it opened, signed in, parked up and started the walk. The walk only took us just under 25 mins. I would recommend wearing trainers and not flip flops as some parts can we a bit slippery and some steep steps up and down. It was great when we arrived by 8.25 as noone was there and we had the place all to ourself. Well worth a visit…it’s free and if you get there early enough you’ll be the first people there. When walking back, we walked past about 6 other people in different groups along the way. Bring some insect repellant as there are loads of bugs and flies hovering around you constantly.

  5. A little bit out of town and free entry. Recommend taking a scooter and then doing the 1.4km walking trail to the waterfall. Walk isn’t difficult so physical fitness isn’t required. Waterfall itself is the reward, and you can swim in the small pool beneath it. Very cool and highly recommend visiting.

  6. Nice waterfall, don’t go if it has been raining. The path can be very slippery. It is a nice walk of 1,4 km uphill, the waterfall is an amazing reward. Just book a taxi or a guide, be aware that you don’t have internet in the jungle so you can’t order grab.

  7. This was my second visit to this waterfall, the first being 5 years ago. Easy access from Chiang Rai, a 35 minute motorbike ride along well maintained roads. Access is free! The only toilets are located at the parking area. They were clean enough and had both squat and sit down style with water hose, but no paper or soap. The hike to the falls is around 3km round trip from the parking area. It’s a little steep in some areas but easily achieved without training or special footwear. When you first pass under the entry sign, the trail splits left and right. Both trails end up at the waterfall, so you can take one path on the way up and the other path on the way down. And when you get about 200 meters from the waterfall the trail splits again, with both trails ending at the waterfall. The trail is well marked and well maintained all the way. It is slippery around the falls, as the water drops with such force that a misty wind is created and everything here is wet. The only negative I could add is that there isn’t much space around the falls, so if it’s crowded you may have to wait a bit for photos. Warning signs for snakes, but I didn’t see any here on this day. I have seen the green pit vipers at other locations nearby though, so it’s good to keep an eye out for them.

  8. Wow wow Wow this waterfall feels larger then pictures portray. loved every part of the hike through the jungle to the water fall. Beware there is some up hill parts that can be hard on people not fit.
