  1. The headcoach of the gym is Kru Manop, one of the best Muaythai teachers of the world. Manop has large experience with high-level fighters, like Saenchai, and is able to teach you also if you are professional fighter or only practicer. There are rooms available to book on the training camp with good prices and excellent structure. For me, a 5-stars place to learn Muaythai and relax in Chiang Mai.

  2. Manop is a really good trainer and person and it does not matter if you are beginner or expert you will enjoy the training and stay here. He got the experience, knowledge and energy. The gym is at a good location close to a highway and shops but still when you are at the gym it is cut off from the noise of cars and you do not see it.The gym itself is very good looking and the rooms to stay in are aswell.

  3. I booked only one week because of my tight holiday schedule and I regretted it already. It is a great experience to train muay thai here. Kru Manop is a really great muay thai coach, he pays a lot attention to details in each technique and corrects you until your technique is perfect (or beautiful as the Thai says). In addition he is very nice and generous he helps you with everything not only in the training, also to drive you to get lunch or dinner or if you need help with something else. It doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or a more experienced fighter there is always room for improvement and Kru Manop will show it to you.The other coach Kru Phonsak is also a very experienced coach, he’s very funny and always jokes around. The gym is really nice, it’s located a little bit outside the city of Chiang Mai but you still can get to the city in 15 or 20 minutes with a bike or car. There are also rooms you can book to sleep in the Gym, the rooms are simple and clean. I would recommend to book the big room if it is available. So if you’re into training muay thai and you’re in Chiang Mai you got to visit Manop Gym.I’ve met really nice people in only one week here and will remember them.

  4. Manop gym is unique, maybe 1 in a million. this has been my first time training and living at a gym in Thailand. I got lucky, this gym was unbelievably hospitable. There are no distractions out here, and most importantly having such a small group here, Kru Manop focuses 100% of his time on you perfecting your technique to be ‘beautiful’. It does not matter if you have 0 fights or 100 fights. He will give you the same attention and fix your game. This is not a big franchise gym, this is a Thai style gym. If you are a beginner it is okay you can work at your own pace but just make sure you put in the max effort. If you are a fighter you have to be accountable for yourself. Sparring is very controlled, and pad holding is master class. Living at the Facility is very clean and works out to be cheaper than living at the hotels near by if you include the training. Kru Manop can turn you into a champion or he can just improve your basics of Muay Thai. Its up to you how hard you want to work for it. But it is the kindness and the people I meet at this gym I will miss the most. ??No problem

  5. Kru Manop is a lovely, kind, and always-smiling instructor, which creates a welcoming atmosphere. The class is divided into two sessions:Morning Session: Focused on basic techniques, bag work, and group techniques in pairs. This session lasts about 90–120 minutes.Afternoon Session: A more intense session lasting 3–4 hours, including bag work, pad rounds (3×5 min rounds), sparring, clinching, and conditioning.Overall, my experience was positive, and I enjoyed working with the Thai trainers on pads. However, I felt uncomfortable and unsafe during a session with a padman from the USA, Richard. During the session, he asked me out to dinner, which was unprofessional and inappropriate. I later learned that he had approached other women at the gym in a similar manner. After I declined, he avoided holding pads for me, which further underscored the discomfort. While I appreciate the rebrand of Yokkao and would love to return, I cannot consider coming back until such behavior is addressed and the environment is made safe and professional for everyone. For now, I’ll be training at Dang Muay Thai.
