Samui International Meditation Center is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking 106/23 Moo 1, 84320, Thailand
I am one of the strict Buddhists, having been experienced to believe in Bad Sin & Good Deed/merit, Good & Bad Karmas. When our boy was 9 year old, we realized that he’s had a pretty serious personal problems (stubbornness, bad temper, impolite & bad mouth). To our believe he’s here to collect debts I’d owed him in the past. But what so ever, it’s believed that he’s been committing bad sin to his parents. So, in order to ease his bad sin commitment is to find the best way for him to be away from doing sin to the parents by sending him to Samui International Meditation Center for 5 weeks of his school summer, reasons being it has a very clean and clear premises, a real well organize organization, project laid out in writing and real professionally manages. The Novice Ordination includes daily early morning alms round, 3 rounds chanting, meditation practice, good manner etiquette, walking hike and fieldtrips. And at last a certificate of achievement given. So this school summer, we again realize that our little boy could benefit another 5 weeks of Novice Ordination, hoping for him to gain more good merits in which he is the first to enroll and delivered to the center in which this year the center has added the English Teaching class to the daily schedule. We are very happy and proud of our little boy that he was so well accepted our suggestion on the Novice Ordination Project and gain Good Deed/merit for Good Karmas so to easily get along with his life.
Very authentic, very friendly and helpful people, even free of charge! A must visit for everyone who likes meditations or just what to learn some basics about Buddhism
The Centre is located in a beautiful tropical garden surrounded by mountains and ocean. It has several buildings for comfortable meditation with AC and terrace with picturesque views for morning ‘sunrise’ and evening ‘sunset’ sessions. Moreover, you have a chance to go through the meditations on the sea shore, which is absolutely inspiring. Also, for those who want to immerse themselves into the life of the Centre it provides accommodation for some moderate payment. I loved the atmosphere there. Once you’ve happened to be there, you feel genuineness and tranquility. I was lucky to be guided by the mindfulness meditation teacher and monk Punnadhammo Bhikkhu through all the details and techniques of the meditation. Every day was a new experience for me. Happy, grateful and peaceful! I recommend this place to those who want to live a conscious life, be happy and share this happiness with others.
I found this place to be very peaceful, has a lots of trees and bedrooms for participants with enough walking space or meditation separately or with the big group.Strongly recommend for everyone.
The Koh Samui Meditation Center is a must visit place. Their evening guided meditation sessions are absolutely amazing. There is enough information to understand and be comfortable for a beginner and for someone who has been actively practicing mediation for a while. Before visiting the center, I meditated only for 10 – 15 minutes a day and always felt an urge to finish my practice. However, after my 50 minute meditation @Koh Samui Center, I could not believe that the time flew by so quickly. I feel that the techniques that I have learned there will help me to improve my ability to focus and extend the practice time even more.
This is the second year that I attend meditation sessions at the Samui International Meditation Centre. I am grateful for this opportunity and to the Centre for being so welcoming and helpful. The place is an oasis of peace and tranquility, both In terms of location and appearance, and the service it provides. I feel comfortable and accepted at the Centre and am impressed by how well the monks understand the challenges we face in Europe and the world. I enjoy meditation and feel I am making progress. It is potentially a life changing experience for me and. There cannot be anything more important in our lives than exploring our inner potential and capacity for peace, kindness and compassion to fulfil the purpose of our existence. The knowledge and guidance available at the Centre is invaluable and rewarding. It is no coincidence that my journey of exploration involves learning at the Centre.
I had the most amazing experience at Koh Samui international meditation Center. I was very warmly welcomed in a lovely quiet atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. Mr. Punnadhammo presented the meditation technique in a very simple and easily understandable way. I felt very fortunate to be allowed to meditate in his clear and uplifting presence.
A meditation experience in Koh Samui caught my attention after doing an island tour. I saw Samui International Meditation Center on the map, did some research and found they had a flexible schedule for guided meditation… perfect as a tourist with a packed schedule!! The location is very central and a short 10 minute walk away from Fisherman’s Village.I wish I could’ve joined one of their retreats, either the 1-day or 7-day. However, they were very accommodating, and after communicating on WhatsApp, found a day that aligned with Monk Tri to offer an hour guided meditation. Before the actual meditation, another student brought me a change of clothes. While I thought I had appropriate attire, the meditation linens were much appreciated!!The actual meditation practice is done atop an open structure, maybe 3 floors high, overlooking Chewang beach and downtown. The scenery and sounds of nature are the perfect setting to inspire newbie meditators like myself.Monk Tri’s English was perfect and shared about the different types of meditation with an emphasis on their way, the Middle Way. His instruction and soothing voice to commence the meditation, paired with the lush island surrounding, truly made my first ever meditation practice an unforgettable experience.I was happy to donate to the center for sharing their time and Monk Tri’s guidance, and absolutely recommend a visit!
August 2024 was my third year at the Centre. The welcoming, the attention to my needs, the care to accommodate my time and family arrangements was impressive. The feeling was like coming back home. I sat and meditated for hours with the Monks. I had the pleasure to follow guided meditation with Monk Tree. The inner piece in such holly place gave me the certainty that Meditation will remain a practice in my life. I have no words to thank everyone, with warm thanks to Kik whom as volunteer is there to receive you with open arms. I will definitely go back.
I had a guided meditation session with Monk Tri yesterday. I had a warm welcome of a volunteer and Pen. Monk Tri explained a lot, asked also a lot of questions en guided my really first meditation. We were sitting in a building on the 3rd floor with a beautiful view of the sea and the mountains. We had a meditation in totally of 50 minutes. This is an experience you have to explore when you are on Koh Samui. Don’t forget to give a nice donation ;). 🙏🏻
