My girlfriend and I went scuba diving in Thailand we went to sail rock and joe was our instructor. He was very professional and fun to scuba with. He was very knowledgeable and had a great demeanour always caring about our enjoyment and comfort. My
Went to Sailrock with Joe. He is a wizard when it comes to navigate into the blue to find yourself suddenly amidst schools of large Barracuda and Trevally.Group of 2 with Joe, Boat totalling 5 guests – that‘s as perfect as it gets!Highly recommended!
We did our referral for open water with SSI with Life Aquatic. Everything was amazing – beautiful boat, great captain, great dive master, delicious food. We felt safe the whole time and had such a great experience. Will use them again when we return to Ko Samui!!
I wanted to dive while in Thailand but my wife isn’t much for boats, so we decided to stay in Koh Samui instead of Koh Tao (the dive capital). The Life Aquatic has a terrific speed boat, which is important so you don’t waste time. I also appreciated the fun guides, and the diving – we were literally surrounded by a vortex of hundreds of fish at one point. After arriving at the pier, I barely had to raise a finger, while my guide, Sam, regaled me with stories of his time on Samui. The ride out was smooth – only an hour – the two dives incredible, and the lunch in between – phenomenal! It was hilarious; one of the best meals I had in over three weeks. The fish at Sail Rock mesmerized me. The visibility wasn’t quite as good as I expected but still superb. The highlight was a moment where three different schools of fish surrounded us like a sphere. There were probably over a thousand fish, including hundreds of barracuda, while we sat there levitating. My guide also kept a close eye on me and helped me with my oxygen conservation. He had plenty of helpful tips and gave me a quick refresher when I needed, but allowed me to do my thing safely. On the way back, I was on the front of the boat. All of a sudden there was a little chop, so we started bouncing a bit in the bow. I held onto my hat so I wouldn’t lose it. All of a sudden we hit a bigger wave and I let go of my hat momentarily. It was gone in a flash. The guy next to me said simply, “it’s gone.” We were doing 30 knots. I couldn’t have cared less after such a magical morning, but when we arrived at the dock, I found it in the back with one of the other divers. The international divers explained it was the luck of the Irish since I’m from Boston (funny bunch obviously). I consider it a minor miracle. Did I mention the shuttle back to my luxury resort so I didn’t have to hail a cab or worry about anything? This is a 5 star experience. Casual, fun, safe, beautiful, friendly, and effortless. Long live the sport of diving (and wildly lengthy reviews).
We had an amazing time with Life Aquatic from start to end. Joe was amazing with coordinating everything and taking care of us- a motley group of people who were snorkeling and scuba diving. Alan the divemaster was superb and we enjoyed him taking us around the dive sites, pointing out the highlights. The boat was comfortable, lunch delicious and crew very helpful.
Joe and his team really looked after us. Great dive with loads of fish and even saw an eel and some dolphins. Highly recommend this trip.
We booked the dives through the agency at the hotel. We didn’t know the dives were operated by The Life Aquatic till we got to the harbor (the price included ground transportation from / to hotel). Jo welcomed us and since the very beginning we felt very well treated. After 1.5h of boat ride, we did 2 very nice dives at the Marine National Park. The tour included a basic lunch and some fruit after the dives. The equipment was also included in the price. It was used but well maintained. Jo made the whole journey fun and the interaction was very nice. On the second day we visited the Sail Rock dive site. Jo had to join another group and we were assigned to a different dive master: Alan. If the treatment provided by Jo was great, Alan was second to none. He is a super nice person extremely customer focused. By the way, we took the tour with our 11 and 9 years old kids and they could stay in the boat with the crew who took care of them during the dives. Thanks Jo and Alan for making our dive tours unforgettable!
My 15 year old daughter and I completed the PADI open water Certification.Communication with Jo was excellent, even though he was on vacation.Mati was our trainer / dive supervisor , he was fantastic. He was Professional, patient , calm and his sense of humor made for a great experience. Our final dive was delayed for a few days due to unexpected circumstances, but we were rewarded with dive at Sail Rock with perfect conditions. A dive experience that we will both share memories of for the rest of our lives . Highly Recommend. Thanks Jo and Mati for the good vibes.
Well organizwd and safe diving. We had an Excellent diving master Yves. I had some times from last dives and Yves reviewed all important hand signals and safety measures before first dive. Had a good and safe feeling for both dives.
