  1. I have just come back from the 3 day Great Escape To Chiang Dao tour . There were 7 of us in the group and we all integrated well. This was helped by the two excellent enthusiastic guides Mit and A . They looked after us well and the scenery on the tour was spectacular . It is quite challenging in parts so some training preparation to get your legs ready would be helpful . Will definitely use this company again next time I come back to Chiang Mai .

  2. The tour was outstanding. Real trekking of two days in the mountains north of Chiang Mai, off the beaten tracks. Everything from A to Z was carefully planned and well-timed. We enjoyed amazing views, did some good exercise, and experienced this region in ways we would never have with the usual “trekking” tours offered everywhere.

  3. We did the 3 day, 2 night, 40 km trek with Mit as our guide–it was absolutely amazing and Mit was so great and kind! We went during the beginning of the wet season which was actually perfect because although we got rained on a bit, it was a lot cooler. Staying at the village with the avocado farm and Loongting was our favourite. It was so peaceful and beautiful. We are also vegan and it was easy to accommodate that diet. The hike itself was appropriately challenging. I have mild asthma and Mit was often checking to make sure I was okay and took breaks whenever I wanted. We felt safe and had a lot of fun! I would make sure to bring extra snacks though and bring fruit from the breakfasts for the rest of your day.

  4. We had the most amazing 2 day Trek with our guide Mit. He’s super funny, charismatic and super knowledgable on the area. He’s full of motivation for the tough hills and gave loads of praise throughout! Couldn’t have asked for a better guide ?The homestay is in a gorgeous location, and we were super well fed. Just remember the mosquito spray!

  5. As a reasonably fit couple in our early fifties we wanted to find a trek that was going to be stretching and able to take us away from the Chiang Mai day trip routes. This three day trek seemed to fit and turned out to be the highlight of our trip to the region. The trek itself included some challenging stretches requiring clambering up steep inclines. There were also more gentle stretches through jungle, pine forest and rice and maize fields. The first night home stay was utterly charming. Very basic facilities but comfortable enough and with such warm hospitality, absolutely delicious food and a very quiet and remote location it felt like real privilege. The summit on the second night with glorious views across the national park was also a highlight as was the wonderful Mitt, our guide. He was a very calm presence, warm and friendly and always happy to try and answer any number of inane questions that our group threw at him. Thank you to Mitt for guiding us so ably!

  6. We had a great trip with our family during this 2 day trekking. Our guide Share was great and the stay with the host family was phenomenal. Very caring, helping and great food. The trekking was good pace and doable for our kids aged 11 and 13, even though the heat was tough and the monsoon shower was impressive. Thank you TMT team for this unforgettable experience.

  7. We had a family group of 7. Two of us were avid runners and were able to do trail running with Kui. It was an incredible experience that allowed them to run 17 miles in Doi Suthep-Pui National Park while the rest of our group did a trek with Jaep. Both experiences took us to several temples along the way. Next time we’re training beforehand because that elevation (and lack of switchbacks!) is rough on casual trekkers. It was an amazing experience either way and would highly recommend.

  8. We had an amazing experience with TMT. Firstly, when booking we were doing a day trip and then left Chiang Mai until the trek, but that didn’t turn out to be a problem as they keep the office open late to provide us with all the information we needed. The trek it self was amazing! Stunning view and beautiful landscapes. Mit was our guide and he was simply the best. Really funny but also kind and caring. Everything was planned absolutely perfect, we were provided with water, meals and snacks. The night in the mountain village was a very pleasant experience as well. Thank you to Mit and the whole team!!

  9. We went on the Great Escape to Chiang Dao 3 days trekking. It was a wonderful experience being in the jungle and stayed two nights in beautiful small lodges where we got amazing food. Our guide Mit made this a perfect adventure and guided us well through all the challenges.

  10. Great hiking experience (5 days) in the mountains, off the beaten paths. Beautiful scenary and remote villages. Wonderful sunsets znd sunrise.

  11. A great experience on the 2D/1N Tour of Chiang Dao.The pick from Chiang Mai was around 7.45am and there was a 2 hour transfer to the start of the hike after picking up 3 other intrepid hikers. The majority of the hike is on mountain paths through jungle/woodland and is mostly shaded and so shielded from the fierce sun and not oppressively hot, although it is humid. The hike is no ‘walk in the park’ and there are some very steep (and long) ascents and descents, some of which are very steep.Mit was our guide and and was friendly, excellent and frequently helping my wife though some of the steeper narrower ascents The home stay overnight was comfortable with hot showers and toiletries and towels.TMT will store bigger bags for you and for us arranged onward travel to our next destination in Tha Ton rather than first going back to Chiang Mai first.Overall thoroughly. Recommended if you want something a little tougher, with great scenery and away from the crowds.

  12. I joined the Karen Land of Rice 2 day trek a couple of weeks ago, and it was fantastic in every respect. Our guide, Share, was a naturalist as much as a hiking guide, and was constantly pointing out plants and animals, and many other interesting things that we passed. Every meal was really great, and the village stay was comfortable, engaging and authentic. Everything about the experience exceeded my expectations, and I would look for forward to any opportunity I had to trek/run with TMT again!
