008 bar is truly one of Bangkok’s hidden gems! Found 008 Bar through BK Magazine’s recommendations and saw that they won “Best New Bar” and “Best Bar in Thonglor/Ekkamai” as well as a finalist for “Best Bar” for their 2019 Bar Awards. Decided to head to 008 Bar on the second last night of a trip with friends with high expectations. We were wow-ed beyond words. Finding the bar itself can be a journey as it’s tucked away on the 11th floor behind a massive wooden door near the swimming pool (we missed it a few times until a couple pointed us towards what we thought was a dead-end wall). The decor inside was amazing with large leather seats cocooning the bar as well as leather sofa sets clustered around different areas. Jazzy music was also playing to set the mood. The maitre d named Bee welcomed us into the bar and started having conversations with us and recommended drinks for us. The head Bartender, Jaime also came over to talk to us. The bartenders look very professional and are very meticulous in making the drinks.Their drinks are spirits-based and were infused with different flavours. We ordered the Pyroblast, 1920s, Perfectionist, Al Capone, Long Beach, Intoxic, After You and Elliotness which were all very potent and flavourful and all come highly recommended. I personally drank Long Beach and Pyroblast, which were fruity and sweet and right down my alley. All in all, 008 Bar comes very highly recommended from us. The service level is impeccable, the decor and ambience set was truly magical and the drinks were very potent and catered to diverse tastebuds. Would recommend to go on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays if you want live music or DJ playing at the booth.
This is a true speakeasy bar – it was also one of my favorites in Bangkok. Drinks and vibes were both amazing.
It is a cosy small space. But the music wasn’t great. They had a DJ, but the mix could have been better. The songs catered to a niche crowd. And the cocktails were normal for a high price.
Such a cool place for drinks. Fantastic service, lovely ambience and delicious cocktails with really interesting spins on the classics. I will certainly visit again – loved it!
