  1. Had a liveaboard through Kontiki. Their head office had not been in contact with local divecenter, but the staff at Khao Lak took care of that. Everything went ok with them. Would have given 5 stars, but the boat which they used was so badly out of shape that can’t give 5 stars. The internet webpage is giving you different view, which in the case of Peter Pan – boat is really wrong. So 4 stars go to Kontiki, not to the company they are using. This is a bit confusing way of working, because whom can you contact, it is a kind of re-seller thing.

  2. I couldn’t complete my Advanced Course in Khao Lak because I became sick. I then went to Phuket some 7 months later and emailed Mikael to send through the documents on the dives I had completed so I could finish the course. He was straight onto it, emailed me and the company I was going through in Phuket. Saved me time and money as I only had to do the one day of diving instead of the two. Thanks Mikael, you are the best

  3. WERY Nice People, recomended from Khao lak -Go2similian. SAME great experience and the diving master was great ! Underwater world was Perfect-seaturtle,seahorse and reef shark on 3 difrent dives the same day !

  4. Mikael was quick to reply to my questions and eager to book me and no wonder! I needed to do my open water dives of the OW PADI course, which he wanted to charge nearly $550 CAD for (everyone else is charging about $300). He tried to charge me 2,000 baht for a “necessary private tour guide” to Richellieu Rock – the website stated 1,500. When I pointed this out, he said the prices had changed but since I noticed, he would give it to me at 1,500. With further digging, I see that the dive to Richellieu Rock is 6,200 INCLUDING a guide, so he tried to charge more for that. And, finally, the website states 10% off for three days of diving, 15% off for five days of diving. I was going to book 4 days of diving and he only offered me 3% off. Save your money! There’s much better sites to dive with

  5. Me and my bf took the PADI Open Water course with Kon-Tiki in december 2014 and it was a great success! Our instructor Mikael provided us a completely smooth and hassle free course. He was very friendly and easygoing. It was obvious he was very experienced himself and also had a lot of fun diving stories to tell. The fact that he was so knoledgeable about the dive sites and gave a thorough pre-dive briefing, made us feel totally safe and relaxed during the dive. He let us to decide the pace and pointed out interesting things underwater. Kon-Tiki Khao Lak is a great choice for a first-time diver, as Mikael is a proffesional and experienced instructor and has a thorough explanation for every question.P.S. Do take a diving trip to Similan Islands – simply fantastic!

  6. Had a very nice open water course with Kon-Tiki. Did the theory at home in Sweden, and the pool and open water dives in Khao Lak. Mikael was very helpful with the booking and the administrative procedures, and Stefan was a terrific dive instructor! Had two very nice diving days at Similan Islands were we saw water snake, turtle, eels, clownfish and a lot of other colourful fish. Thank you for a wonderful course Stefan!

  7. Great snorkeling experience. We booked day trip to the Similan Islands (off Khao Lak coast) at the last moment at the Kon-Tiki Khao Lak Snorkeling Centre at Khao Lak. Mikael was very informative/helpful. Snorkeling was eye opener for me (my husband stayed on board). I am very much a beginner – first time since 30 years. Staff was very understanding, hauling me on board et al. The boat ride was calm and quiet (3 hours one way), just as we like it. We had 2 snorkeling outings, before and after lunch. We were 5 + 2 staff, to help us in case so required. Lunch and drinks are included in the price, as is use of snorkeling equipment. In summary, good deal, good food, good coffee (VIP), good team – VIP as well, and right mix of clients – some snorkeling, some diving. Each group had 1 or 2 support staff accompanying them. Very good from safety point of view. What else can I say? Go and try it out yourselves. Warmly recommended.

  8. We booked 6 day trips with Kon tiki diving firstly because of the high discount they give(15% if u book more than 5 day trips). We ended up with booking 4 day trips to Richelieu, 2 to koh tachai. The manager Mickael arranged everything perfectly. I changed two dive trips to another date (well in advance of course) and that was not a problem at all! Everything was very well taken care of so we were very satisfied and above all I saw a whale shark at one of my last dive trip at Richelieu!

  9. Familiar with Kon-Tiki Diving from Ao Nang (Krabi). Expected Scandinavian guides on this snorkling trip accompaning the participants. Turned out to be 1hrs 15min transfer in mini bus going, more coming back. International group met by good Thai subcontractor at port. One hour plus speed boat trip to Surin. Very good & be happy guide took care of us. More than 20 stayed on Surin Island upon arrival (longtail transportation ashore). We had an absolutely wonderful only 12 person group snorkeling. First a 45min stop with shallow & deep waters. Beautiful hard corals and plenty of colorful fish in the hundreds and hundreds. Big variety of fish. Boarded then longtail boat for shore excursion to Mokan sea gipsy village. Interesting. On to North Surin Island for lunch.SOOO beautiful vistas and sights for the sore eye. Truely amazing. The absolutely best part was that there were NOT many people, no hords of people like we heard there are on the Similans (snorkling / diving / day trips). The Surin Islands were the tops. In the afternoon also some time to explore the beautiful island. Wish we had stayed a night or two in paradise!!!Late PM two more snorkling spots of which the first was fab, with great ‘bigger’ fish, sea stars & corals. Third dive lots of smaller ‘Nemo’ fish. Exhausting & thrilling day (7AM start / 6PM return). For snorkling go to Paradise on Earth: Surin Islands!
