We did a day trip on the Peacock which took us up the coast towards Hua Hin town and what a great way to see this coastline it is. The boat was large and comfortable, the staff professional and courteous and the food fantastic. This trip takes in the Pranburi river and local fishing fleet also and is a must do for anyone staying in Hua Hin.
fantastic day, picked up from our villa on time , taken to the sea cat to meet up with the rest of our party, total of 30 persons, welcomed onboard by barry and bert both of whom could not do enough to ensure our trip went well, loads of local knowledge, service on board was terrific an amazing lunch provided by the attentive crew. running out of beer didnt cause a problem, just pulled up alongside and got more on, with the service they provide this should be a very successful venture
Went with a large group of adults and children and were very well catered for by the crew. Plenty of refreshments and an excellent lunch cooked on board. Very safe environment for children. Had the chance to get off for a swim which was great. And getting picked up and dropped off by mini bus made the day a lot easier.Would highly recommend this day out to others.
We booked the sun cat 1 boat for a private birthday party tour. We were 2 adults and 9 teenagers’ girls. Prior to arrival we have concluded food menu and tour program. We did not know hat to expect, as it was the first time we have booked such tour. We were greeted by a nice crew member (European) and collected from the hotel on time (in fact, the car arrived before, to ensure an accurate collection). Upon arrival to the peer, we were greeted again by more crew members and by Mrs. Tan, whom was also the cook! It seems that Mermaid Cruises added staff to supervise the girls, and ensure their safety. It was a great gesture. The food, the service and the care exceeded our expectations. We were fed with excellent food, and drinks, we had super great time in water and off water (finishing), and we felt safe all the time, which proven to be an important factor when traveling with youngsters. We are highly recommending Mermaid Cruises, which did exceed our expectations.
We hired the SunCat1 for my 50th birthday and had an enjoyable and relaxed cruise which included some time out fishing next to a small island and some swimming along a beachfront for an hour or so. The food that was prepared was very good and plentiful which came with a surprise birthday cake – thanks for that. The captain (Mark – designer/builder) was very hands on and Tan the owners wife was very attentive during the cruise. All in all a very good day out and would recommend the SunCat1 for both small and large parties.
During the morning visit by boot and by food of the mangroves. At noon an excellent mail and in the afternoon a trip on the river inside the country. Pickup in the morning and delivery at the gusthouse in the evening are included. We were only 3 persons, place enough on the electric boat. Many birds to see.
Me and my girlfriend took the Eco-River cruise last Monday morning. They picked us up at our hotel a little after 08:30 and after picking up two other couples, we headed of to the company marina where another couple with their two children was there already. We got some coffee, then after a small introduction by the guide, we went aboard the boat and off we were. The only sound was the small waves lapping at the hull. The electric engine was silent. On our way into the mangrove forest we passed many fishing vessels, and also saw several under construction. After a winding way among the canals inside the mangrove forest, we went ashore and took a walk along the built wooden/concrete pathways to a small center showing a little about life in the mangrove forest, and life in Thailand a 100 years ago, including a kitchen. Then back to the boat where we went back past the fishing vessels and into another part of the mangrove forest. There we had a fairly long walk on these walkways. I saw a snake and some crabs. It was hot and humid so it was a though experience for me who only 1 week ago come from a winter in Northern Norway! ;-)Back in the boat we went back to the marina where we were served a very nice and hot lunch, and the curries they served was seasoned for farang tongues. ;-)Then we settled our bills and paid for the trip plus the bear or soda we had with the lunch.Back in the boat we headed up the Pran Buri river looking for Kingfisher birds and monitor lizards, and we did see some during our trip, but mostly in the lower part of the river. We also saw some mud crawler fish, after some googling, I think they are called mudskippers. The rest of the trip was a bit boring (and very hot) with very little wildlife to see, and mostly more or less expensive homes dotting the river banks. After about 2 hours(?) we reached the disembarkation point where the same cars and drivers from this morning was waiting for us, ready to take us back to our hotels. All in all a very nice trip and the company and the guide gave us a very experience. The only negative thing about this trip is that there was a lot of garbage, both inside the mangrove forest and along the river, but that is not the fault of the Mermaid Cruises.I have also booked a Firefly cruise next week, and a Sea cruise on ‘The Peacock’ the following week with them, so expect more reviews.
