Situated on road No. 118 about 65 kms from Chiang Mai – on your way to Chiang Rai – on your left you see a fake Khmer temple and a fountain.Make a stop, enjoy a cup of coffee while your feet are dangling in hot spring water. There’s also a lot of souvenir stores and an OTOP Thai product store.
This an experience worth having & right on the side of the highway.Cook some eggs in the boiling water, or have a relaxing foot soak, there is something forveveryone young & old alike
What an amazing place, very restful, sit a while and soak your feet in the beautiful natural hot springs, do a bit of shopping, grab a drink and just soak it all up. Please don’t just drive past this little oasis, stay awhile and enjoy.
Stop here and stretch your legs after the spectacular drive through the green forests of the mountains. There are several coffee shops, and in one you can relax your feet in the pleasantly hot spring water. The coffee is good too – in fact it is quite difficult to find bad coffee in the north of Thailand. The OTOP shop has a good selection of healthy snacks.Incidentally the café boasts a very well endowed Thai version version of the Brussels Mannekin Pis!
The natural hot spring is a lovely photo spot. Visitors can sit on the bank of the spring, soak their feet & relax. Tiny shallow pools with hot spring water are also constructed around the hot spring which are used by local vendors to boil eggs & then sell to tourists. Few eateries & restaurants have come up as this is a tourist haunt. This is a good place to spend few minutes in between a long travel and
We stopped here as part of a Chiang Rai trip from Chiang Mai. It beats stopping at a gas station but the hot springs are a little underwhelming. There is an area up above the parking lot which seems in disrepair… the most interesting part is the locals boiling eggs in the hot springs. Many souvenir and snack shops surround the parking lot, we stopped for about 20 minutes, which was plenty for me.
It’s nothing wow, but you can stop for some time and look around Natural Hot Spring.Take a Day trip from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai, depending on traffic, it takes around an hour from Chiang Mai City. You can look over silver shops and some quick food.Don’t be surprised if you see, local keeping eggs inside the spring in a basket to boil. Not sure about the ancient temple name.Note: Checking temperature in bare hand not recommended.
Nice, easily accessible hot spring with pool area to sit down and soak your feet in, an adjacent abandoned resort and the obligatory shopping area.Boiling eggs sitting in the smaller of the two wells shows a bit of ingenuity. The geyser in the bigger one is busy and a little bit impressive.Still more interesting is the abandoned spa resort. Looks authentic from the distance, but obviously a modern mock temple when you wander around it.Worth a stop? Why not! It’s there and almost every other traveller in the area has had a look, so might as well.
When travelling to Chiang Rai, the springs are a convenient stop for a snack or toilet visit. You can paddle in the water at some pools but much of it is ver hot, so be careful.
Interesting hot spring place good for a quick look but that’s about it – our group used it mainly for a pit stop but the geyser like hot spring was nice. Also up top that have an area that you can put your feet in for a free spa like treatment lots of tourist have in a try.
