We visited Phuket in August 2011, staying near Surin beach. We’d been to Thailand a few times and enjoyed temple visits, nature hikes, etc. but had never thought to try out a fishing charter. Having heard good things about the Fish Eagle from friends we thought we’d try a one day deep sea fishing trip. The day started with a friendly driver picking us up from our hotel at the TwinPalms and delivering us to the Chalong Bay Harbour. We met up with Michelle and some of the other staff who were already preparing food and drinks for the journey. A tour of the boat by the proud captain showed that the Fish Eagle has double redundant safety features and all the latest tools needed to achieve our primary goal of catching fish! Long story short, the day was perfect, great weather, awesome thai food cooked for lunch, and the fishing was amazing. We cought tuna that was then immediately prepared as sashimi and served up as what must be the freshest fish possible. Other fish that ended up in the boat included Dorado, Queen’s Fish, Longtai and numerous tuna. It was a great day out and has converted me into a fan of sea fishing, in fact I’m returning in November for a fishing tournament with friends. Of course we will be sailing on the Fish Eagle!
Hi i fished on Fish Eagle for the tournament last november and i was a great experience we ended up winning the competition after catching 4 sailfish.The main reason we won this comp. was down to the professional way the boat was equipt and run.When you are fishing for bill fish everything needs to be perfect because there is no worse feeling than losing a big fish to bad gear ( i know)but there is no need to worry on that count with Fish Eagle. The food was always top notch with both Thai and European food served.Overall this is a great boat with a great crew and i look forward to my next fishing adventure on Fish Eagle .Roll on Feburary.
Since i did my last review in 2011 i have been lucky enough to have fished aboard fisheagle on many occasions.Team Fisheagle was once again on the winners podium for the P.I.S.T Tournament in November winners 2 out of the last 3 years and in Feburary Team Fisheagle competed in R.B.F.C Similan Island competition where it was narrowly beaten into 3rd place have caught tagged and released a fine sailfish.This boat and crew always perform on the big occasion but also give the same dedication and commitment if its your first fishing experience and your hoping for that elusive marlin or sailfish.
Fish Eagle has an unbelievable boat and crew. Fishing has been amazing as we had planned to fish for one day but ended up fishing for 4 full days in January, 2016.We had double and triple hook ups of Sail fish (which are caught and released). We also pulled in Dorado, Tuna, King Mackeral, GT, African Pompano and various other species of fish. Words cannot describe the amazing experience we had with Fish Eagle and the food was yummylicious. We do recommend Fish Eagle and we will be back for fishing with them sooner rather than later. Superb Crew with the best equipment and a very well maintained vessel. The food was excellent. If its Billfish you are after especially Sailfish then there is no better boat than Fish Eagle. It was a pleasure to fish with Andrew and his crew nd although the bite was slow we still managed to catch and release that amazing Sailfish.The Crew use circle hooks which are a must for catch & release and therefore have the best catch & release record of any vessel in Phuket
I was asked on a day trip aboard the Fish Eagle. We had near misses with a couple of sailfish (they’d caught 3 the previous day). The consolation prize was a beautiful king Mackerel that we ate. But I wanted more so signed up for a three day / two night trip. Lots of fish, but the sailfish still evaded us.What made both trips great, though, was the lovely and comfortable, generously proportioned boat (and a proper boat, not some cramped planing fibreglass toy), the hard working and very competent crew (apparently they vie for victory in the annual fishing tournament each year), and the clear delight everyone on board takes in what they do and in making sure you have a mighty time. Lots of boats are run down and not properly maintained. None of that on Fish Eagle – not flashy, but deep quality. And lots of crew seem to be going through the motions. Again, the opposite here. Plus everyone on board loves cooking and does it very well. Mostly fish, of course!I’ll be back.
I was invited by a friend and we had superb day. As a fishing park owner and fishing enthusiast I always say that fish are always a bonus and that its about the day out on or by the water. Well the bonus was given with plenty of fish caught of different species and I am sure that this was down to the guide Andy, the captain and the crew who had a plan and would constantly change tactics to put us on the fish a complete contest to many other boats, you get what you pay for ! The boat is spotlessly clean, very organized and has a fish finder on the lower deck so the customers can see where the fish are along with all the other equipment required. The food was superb. Top quality and well maintained tackle. I will recommend this to many and I will be back for sure.
Have been out quite a few different times over the past 3 years with successful results each time. From great time on the boat while hunting down the big ones, to the experience of Andrew and his crew pulling in beautiful sailfish, Mahi mahi plus a variety of many other fish. One thing that really impressed me is that they truly take the appropriate steps to ensure that the catch and release of the sailfish is done with optimal efficiency to ensure the safety and health of the fish. My most recent trip was 12-23-2018 and all i can say was a very good trip we caught 5 great sails looking forward to getting back out again as soon as i get the free time again. Thank you Fish Eagle and crew for the great times!
Excellent operation, very well run. Great crew that can get you on the fish. Plenty of good food and cold drinks. Could not have asked for a better day. My first time deep sea fishing and I can’t wait to get back soon.
Was a great day out on the fish eagle sport fishing boat. Caught 4 beautiful sails, great scenery, top notch crew. Will definitely be booking another trip the next trip to Thailand.
