  1. This restaurant caters purely for tourists who are a relatively captive audience. Am sure it banks on people not returning as it appeared to not care about the quality of the food or the service. Our meal was delivered in parts with long spaces between. We had to ask multiple times for our bill. Looking round the restaurant others had the same problem. Avoid this place. Much much better food – and much more reasonably priced elsewhere

  2. A good traditional Thai menu ( with subtitles! ), and let them know if you don’t want the full chilli hit. The long cold drinks on offer are wonderful and welcome. We found the staff helpful and polite. If you choose to sit outside be aware the sun will move around and you may want to change tables, otherwise enjoy the fish in the lily pond as you eat.

  3. We were visiting the house and booked a table for lunch. It is very busy, so make sure you book.We were shown to our table, which had to be cleared after the previous diners. It would have been preferable if this had been done beforehand. That said, our salads were beautifully-presented, with a taste that matched the appearance. Bliss.Service was polite, if a little slow, but in defence of the staff, I think they found the continuous stream of diners a bit exhausting, and some diners were rather impatient, which never helps.

  4. Had a lovely lunch here – it does get very busy and they do provide good service but you may have to be patient. the food was good and was a nice ending to the tour.

  5. Had coconut café and café Thai style (coffee and condensed milk) and my dad had a piece of coffee cake and fresh coconut (coco water). It was quite expensive but the food was good.

  6. This cafe is located within the compound of the Jim Thompson House museum, alongside a Klong and facing a small pond filled with carp. I have eaten here in the past, but on this visit, opted simply for a cool drink. The coconut and ginger smoothie was just wonderful (I’d sampled an equally delicious lychee and mint smoothie at their cafe in the Jim Thompson factory outlet that morning). A great way to while away a hot afternoon.

  7. Set above the main shop is this delight cafe with many sweet surprises. The Blueberry Cheesecake and the Lemon Meringue were very tasty after a visit to the museum and grounds.

  8. Nice cafe by the pond after visiting Jim Thompson House. It’s definitely pricey but with nice ambience and why not avoid the heat for a few moment?Ordered shrimp fried rice and ice americano. Tasted good, standard meal.

  9. It’s a pretty room, but the cafe features one of the most overpriced menus in all of Bangkok. I come to Bangkok a lot for work, and I think that I spent less for dinner at a five-star restaurant on the river than I did for lunch at the Jim Thompson Cafe. The prices are too much for what you get. The service can also be quite slow and unorganized. Quite frankly, I don’t think they really know what they’re doing…
