It’s a beautiful golf course including two par 6 holes. I personally did not enjoy the round, those who have a lower handicap will enjoy but for hackers like me give it a miss! Expensive for the golf clubs in this area but facilities excellent, these are shared with the green valley next door. Restaurant very good and price reasonable.You will find not a better course in this area but probably not enjoy unless a low handicap.
Enjoyed playing at St Andrews which is part of a 3 course set up including Silky Oaks and Green Valley (Don’t be fooled by the name however….links course this is not !!).St Andrews 2000 was a nice picturesque course, in need of a little more love and attention as some of the fairways where not great, The rough was varying condition on each hole and not consistent, the greens where varying speeds and in all honesty, there are more courses in the area worth less money.The par 6’s are a challenge however can be played like a long normal hole, the caddies where good, however pace of play was very slow due to large groups on the course, so be prepared to have a long round, even with a buggy and caddy.Not worth the money if you pay full rate, Luckily we played with a member and in the week, even still this came to 2500 THB including caddy tip, you cannot walk this course as buggy is compulsory as is caddyWould I play again…maybe, but i’d rather play others !!
I’ve played St. Andrews 2000 three times in recent years and played here with a group of friends a week ago. I really enjoy the layout which can be very challenging if you spray your drives around. The two par 6 holes are tremendous and certainly provide a memorible experience. I thought the course and surrounds were a bit tired this time and I left with the impression it needs some love, time and money spent on it. This aside, it’s a great experience not to be missed.
The course has a great layout and we enjoyed each of the holes. Caddies have been very good, try to get Noo, #250, she helped a lot with her good green reading skills. The course was not at his best shape, fairways a bit long, greens a bit slow, but still in good shape. It will be perfect during the peak season, but other courses are a bit better currently. The course was empty and we played below 4 hours.
This place needs a complete overhaul as it has got worse since our last visit. Although it is still popular with the golfers the actual place is so scruffy and uninviting – I am surprised that there are not more complaints. The car parking area is tatty and the internal buildings need a facelift. The restaurants are average at best and the pool area is tired looking. In fact the only positive on our visit was a foot massage by a very knowledgeable member of staff.
To narrow for me. Nice layout.Caddies are pro, but they don’t see the lines, as I do not pu hard. They often missed.
We played here this weekend because we were interested in the 2 x Par 6 holes. The course could be nice but it hasn’t been well maintained and the greens were full of sand (probably due to amount of rain). There are only 2 drink stations too, which we didn’t know about until we went past the 2nd one.The only advantage was that if was quiet. Wouldn’t rush back. There are better courses.
I really enjoyed playing St Andrews. Course was in good condition. Bunkers a bit rough. My caddie was excellent. Club house is pretty rubbish. There’s a western style outside bar that sells burgers and beers etc which did the job after a round. Already booked to go back and play the sister course.
Truly an understated and beautiful course. Every hole offers its unique challenging and landscape/terrai. The undulations justed added to its beauty and difficulty. Love every moment of my game there. Greens and fairway were better than my expectation (having read past reviews). Will definitely return to play in the future
Arriving at St. Andrews 2000 golf course can be quite bewildering, especially for first-time visitors. Despite the prominent signage, the facility’s two courses are actually named Barcelona Valley and Silky Road, leading to some initial confusion about reservations. The condition of the course leaves something to be desired, as it appears quite dry and requires significant effort just to get tee markers into the hard ground. Unfortunately, my caddy was more focused on her phone than on guiding me, and I had to remind her to pay attention during play. Additionally, she included snacks on my bill without prior discussion and also requested a meal for herself after I bought one for myself, taking some food home afterward. Overall, I found my experience lacking in quality, with several better-maintained golf courses in the area offering superior service and conditions.
