  1. Hot yoga is different to other forms of yoga, it is hot and it is intense. You won’t get music or meditation at Hot Yoga, but you will get a great physical workout. There are 26 postures and 2 breathing exercies which make you want to come back time and time again. Govert is full of energy and highly experieced and shares this with the class to motivate us to work to the best of our ability. The studio is clean and a mat and 2 towels are provided for every student. A new surface was installed on the floor a couple of months ago. I’ve been going to Kata Hot Yoga for about 25 times a month for three years and at the beginning I never knew the impact it would have on me. I love Kata Hot Yoga!

  2. If you’ve practiced Bikram or just curious about Bikram Yoga then this is the place to get your sweat on. I was introduced to Bikram style yoga in Ubud Bali and it is quite different from other styles more commonly practiced. The room is heated and practice the same 26 poses plus 2 breathing exercises. I appreciate that no matter where in the world I go, if I can find a “Bikram Style” studio then I know what to expect, which is an amazing practice that leaves me feeling so much better mentally and physically. I was lucky enough to have been in Kata when a visiting teacher, Frank G. was teaching. He is amazing, patient, and had a great pacing. I think he was visiting from Las Vegas. He just made the practice so much more enjoyable. Hope he returns to Kata to teach again.

  3. Found this place to be over priced, over crowded and over hot (as evidenced by efforts to lower temp mid class). The instruction was poor, very fast chat with little demonstration. Felt unhygienic

  4. I started Bikram Yoga back in August 2017 to help manage my newly diagnosed rheumatoid arthritis. I signed up for the 7 day health program at Kata Hot Yoga in March 2018 to have a bit of time out from the real world and try to further reduce some of my daily symptoms through Bikram yoga. The week I spent there was really worthwhile. It was nice to dedicate more time to Bikram yoga and general relaxation. Due to my condition, Govert was able to adjust some of the program to accommodate my limited mobility. All the teachers were very encouraging and enthusiastic. Each class was very dynamic and full of energy. I was really pleased that I even managed to complete 2 Bikram classes on 3 days out of 7! The studio is clean and the apartment above the studio is simple but also clean and has everything you need. Hopefully I will get the chance one day to go back and try the 30 day challenge! Thanks to the whole Kata Hot Yoga team 🙂

  5. I booked one week Hot Yoga with the Health Programm and I did enjoy every single day. Not being used to Hot Yoga the start is a little hard. 90 Minutes in the heat (40 degrees) but after every single class I had such a good feeling of relax, working your body completely through that I couldn’t wait for the next class going on.6 o clock morning walks are so beautiful. Every single day Kata Beach the atmosphere, the colors the ocean have been different. Silent walk and later exercises. Really very professional team. Govert is a very sympathetic guy and I did like very much his classes. One day we went to a herbal sauna or steam room with massages super relaxed and great. Another day we went to a temple and the buddhist monk hold his ceremony only for us. Every day a long swim in the ocean we did see the Big Buddha (45 meters ) overlooking Kata Beach from the sea. All together this was more then wonderful. Body (Exercises) Soul (Monk) and Mind are completely balanced after this week. Thanks to the whole team

  6. If you want to get some variety from all these touristic things, just go for a class to reset your head. Govert is very nice, patient and gives personal advice (even in german). It‘s very exhausting due to the heat, but you feel so good afterwards.

  7. I have just completed 30 days of Hot Yoga with Govert and his team. An absolutely fantastic experience. I did my first Hot yoga class here four years ago and have been back every year since. Govert is a master instructor and will give you patient and insightful guidance in what can be a very challenging activity.I will definitely be back next year.

  8. I just finished a 30 day trip to Phuket/Kata and completed 40 classes during that time at this studio. As many others have said, the professionalism of the instructors and the quality of the studio exceed expectations. The owner, Govert, is not only dedicated to giving students the authentic Bikram experience, he also genuinely wants students to both enjoy and succeed in their practice. By consistently paying close attention to each student’s posture and providing constant encouragement and guidance to both new and experienced students, Govert is clearly not just running a business. He wants you to have as healthy a body as you are prepared to work for and will support you to do it.During the month I was there, there were four instructors in addition to Govert who were there as ‘guest’ instructors. Each had their own particular modifications to the script, but regardless, they were all very professional and had the same commitment to the student’s success and enjoyment of the practice. It was clear to me that Govert cares very much about creating a great environment here whether he is in the studio or not.Having read some of the negative reviews here, I think it’s important to point out to those who have not done a Bikram / Hot Yoga before: Hot yoga is different from other yoga you may have tried. It is intended to be HOT. There is no music. There is just the instructor’s script. The instructor generally does NOT demonstrate the postures. The student needs to watch what others are doing if they don’t know what to do. The instructor focus is on adjusting and fine tuning postures and delivering the script. This is what Bikram is supposed to be and that’s what this studio delivers. My advice to newbies is to come with an open mind and give it a try. We grow in our lives when we try new things.Lastly, I want to extend heart felt gratitude to Govert, Alex, Grace, Eva and Be. Thanks for supporting me in so many ways, both in and outside the studio.

  9. Amazing introduction into Bikram in an extremely hot professional studio. Facilities and location are superb. Seconds away from a beautiful beach. Classes by Govert are both fun and intense and he ensures attention and correction to all clients. I was lucky enough to have classes by visiting instructors from Chile and the amazing Rupi from the US who brought her own energy and wisdom into the class. I can not recommend this place more.I will be back without a doubt.

  10. I been here in Mar for studying hot yoga. I went to hot yoga in UK and Bangkok before. But here much better because the room is very hot and they teach the original 26/2 hot yoga for 90 min. I did 30 days challenge. After that I can see my body transformed, more flexible and stronger.
