  1. Tunas, Spanish Mackerel, and Sailfish! On our first private fishing charter trip in Phuket we had probably one of the most unforgettable boating experiences we ever had. We knew what to expect in Phuket waters from previous fishing trips and doing researches, but it just kept getting better with The Big Blues and Captain Stefano. The Boat is super spacious, clean, and very well maintained. Food served was second to none than any boat food we ever had. My wife had the front deck all to herself and crushing the winds riding the beautiful waters around Phuket is as sensational as pulling big fishes in the back. On top of all that, the Captain knows every bit of his waters and exactly what he was doing. A 10+ experience!

  2. Went to Racha Islands for a full day fishing with Big Blue. Stefano, the owner, greeted us, but was not able to join us on the trip which felt like we did not get the best fishing guide for the tour. His crew is knowledgeable for descent fishing tour, but I felt they are just running routines and wasn’t doing any extra effort to maximize the catch. Caught just one Tuna in the morning and a whole lot of reef and bottom fish in the afternoon. The Good:1) Trolling for tuna in the morning is highly recommended as the crew will prepare the fish for Lunch. The freshest sashimi i have ever eaten. Leaving the port as early as possible will maximize this chance2) The crew prepares good food and one of them spoke basic english.3) They were not so picky on extending the fishing time over the scheduled time depending on the fishing situation.4) The boat is large and comfortableThings to improve:1) The crew need to be more proactive to make the fishing experience better. They need to communicate more with the guest and feel what the guest are looking for instead of waiting for instructions. Although, i feel that if the owner was on the boat this would be less of a problem. 2) The boat should also have some small fishing rigs to catch smaller fish. Could be great for the kids or amateur fishermen. Some fish is better than no fish. Tips for the future:1) Don’t go to Racha islands if you want to catch medium to large fish. If you do go to Racha, you can troll for tuna in the morning, they are somewhat more plentiful. Try to do more bottom fishing, there are some medium sized group around the island which can be very delicious if you bring them back to restaurants and cook them.2) Snorkeling wasn’t very good depending of where the boat park on the island and the condition of the water. The day i went, the water was murky due to the early morning wind and the boat parked to far away from the shore line. Deep water + murky water = seeing nothing. ended up fishing for the fish we cannot see and got several beautiful coral fishes that we got to release back since they are somewhat endangered in the area.Overall, it was a nice trip thanks to early morning tuna catch that can be prepared for lunch, lunch time and evening bottom fishing that result in a couple of small groupers.

  3. We rented a private boat for a day trip to Racha islands with 5 adults and 3 kids (9, 7 and 5 years old). We had a fabulous time and enjoyed every service provided by The Big Blues. The boat was clean, we had all we needed (good fishing equipment, sunbathing mattress, amazing Thai lunch, drinks, snorkeling equipment, life vests, and more) and also great vibes (see pictures). The 2 crew on boat are also very helpful, kind, fun and very supportive. They amaze us with their ability to multi task. Wonderful people! The communication with Stefano during the whole booking processes was excellent. Very clear communication, straight forward, and Stefano was very helpful giving us ideas of possibilities. The total experience with The Big Blues was very positive, all handled in a very professional manner and we are very much considering to hire them again on our next visit to Phuket.

  4. I have fished with Stefano and The Big Blues for several years now on three different boats and highly recommend that you try him also. In all of the trips i have yet to be a bit dis-satisfied or disappointed. Stefano’s crews and equipment are first rate. My usual trip is a 3 day live-aboard and we generally fish the area just south of the Similian Islands. Trolling during the day and anchoring up just off the Southern Island for the night. One of the highlights is the quality, and quantity of the food, unbelievable is the only way to describe it.While the fish are not big we catch a good number and in two of the trips took very nice Black Marlin. Common fish are Skipjack Tuna, Wahoo, Dorado, Barracuda, Yellow Fin Tuna, Sailfish, Marlin, and GT

  5. Would just like to thank Stefano and his crew Tim and Fon who looked after us on the day. We all had a great time and would highly recommend this charter to anyone who is interested in a bit of a fish and sightseeing tour. Lunch was amazing and even got to eat one of our catches.

  6. It will give you an exciting and thrilling experience, especially when you can catch the Arapaima ??

  7. Fun day out with the big blues crew, 11 of us in total, there was ample room in the Dorado to hang out, have a beer, nap and relax. We spent the day trawling, with the crew setting up all the rods and equipment and handing the rods over to us once the fish was on the hook to reel it in. Slow morning but after lunch we landed 5 or 6 tuna, with the crew cutting up one of the tuna to eat fresh, sashimi style. We were lucky the weather was great and seas were calmThanks guys!

  8. It was great experience and we were satisfied big time..the staff was extremely nice.thanks a lot for every thing

  9. Spent a great day fishing with Sergei and Roman. Really good guys, very professional and knew their stuff. Caught plenty of Tuna, grouper and other fish with the highlight being a Giant Trevally! Lunch was great. Everything was really well organised. Would absolutely recommend the Big Blues to anyone who wants a great day fishing in Phuket.

  10. I would not recommend this company for fishing trips. Try to find another one. You will find other competitors in the area. The way they managed my reservation was not fishing oriented and not profesional.
