Thanatharee Cruise – The Unique Cultural Experience – Day Tours is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking Thailand
The trip was great, it ended up just being the two of us for our tour from Bangkok to Ayutthaya. We drove for some time in a motor coach, with a pleasant driver and guide. We then picked up our bikes from a local shop, they weren’t anything brand new, but they worked. We toured the impressive ruins, I was briefly chased by a stray dog while on my bike, but managed to escape. We then boarded a beautifully restored rice barge and ate a wonderful lunch and relaxed while cruising down the river, I only wish we could have stayed longer on the barge. Our guide was efficient, polite, knowledgeable, and interesting. I would highly recommend this tour company and any tour relating to the rice barge.
This is a first rate tour, every aspect, every portion was either interesting, informative, educational or relaxing.Both my wife and I had been previously, some 15 and 20 years agoand this time accompanied by our two children (10 & 15)Pick up from the hotel by mini-bus at 6.30am (on time)Short drive to the collection point (a shopping mall by the river)Transferred to a coach for the 90-120 minute drive to the first attraction.On going commentary provided by our veteran tour guide – Victor. Again, informative and amusing.There were four attractions.The order of these attractions can vary according to the traffic conditions.The first was the ancient temple site.The last was the Summer Palace.Two very different temples in between.Oppotunity to purchase coffee, water and snacks and to use the bathroom at each stop.Finally, a 30 minute drive to the cruise boat for a very relaxing lunch and senic boat trip back to Bangkok.Arrived at 3.30pmTransfer to mini bus and we were back at our hotel by 5.00pm.An excellent tour enjoyed by the whole family.
We joined the day tour and it was a perfect and relaxing experience. From the pick up in Bangkok and until the last minute both guide and the crew of the boat really took care of us. Excellent Thai food onboard and a perfect way of seeing Ayutthaya temple from the deck. They offer overnight trips as well and cabins look really nice! Will try next time!
After few days in thailand, me and my workmates decided to book Thanatharee in our day to Ayutthaya. The experience was amazing! Not only visit the archeological site from another point of view, but also had a new experience. The boat is beatiful, the cabins are clean and fully functional, the food on board just delicious and the activities so great. We enjoyed so much our day! Absolutelly recommended!
Perfect excursion for the family! Visiting Ayutthaya by bike is a great choice and although it was a hot day the visit was very interesting. Food on board was delicious and the facilities of the boat were very nice too. Quite recommend for families with teenagers and kids (I would say 8+ years)
The very friendly crew on this boat prepared a tasty and filling Thai lunch as we cruised the river. We enjoyed a two-hour cruise after a full morning of seeing temples and palaces, and this couldn’t have been more relaxing. After the meal, we were provided with cushioned lounges to rest on the deck and watch the homes, temples and restaurants go by.
