Our tour was with Travel China Guide. It was well organized, everyone spoke very good English, the food was great, visited lots of places and we had a great time. Our tour was in May so it was rather hot but not as many tourists and crowds to deal with. We had six of us on a private tour and that is the only way to go. It is so nice to travel in a small group.Since we had a small group we could adjust the schedule when the weather was to hot, especially the first few days. We went from Alberta, Canada with 15 C to Bangkok 35 C and high humidity. It took us a few days to adjust. This is our second trip with Travel China Guide, we also did China two years ago on a Small Group Tour. Both trips were amazing and I would recommend Travel China Guide for any trips to Asia.
I was slightly wary initially of booking with a foreign tour company entirely over email without some of the UK protections eg ABTA; I need not have worried! The whole trip ran really smoothly. Everything was in place, excellent itinerary and fantastic local guides. Hotels were very good, internal flights were straightforward too. This trip really gives you an overall feeling forThailand and its history and culture. We had an extra day in Chang Mai and one less day in Phuket which worked fine for us, though with hindsight we should just have added an extra day to the whole holiday! I was especially impressed that the elephant sanctuary we visited, Elephant Nature Park, was genuine and fully ethical, no washing or riding these gorgeous animals. Be warned, not all are despite their advertising blurb!Finally, customer service from Agate was superb, all email queries were answered quickly and effectively.Overall, highly recommended. We shall certainly use their services again.
We had a wonderful 2 weeks trip to Indonesia and we would like to thank Agate Travel and specially Mrs Emily Xin for arranging this high-quality itinerary. The days spent in Bali, Java and Komodo National Park are already part of our dearest travel memories. Bali is a paradise, Borobudur is a marvel and navigating the semi-phinisi boat around the Komodo National Park was a pleasure.Our visit was perfect to every small detail and we were really pleased with the high standart services offered by Agate TravelMrs Emily Xin is highly professional and her support and care with our trip was highly appreciated. She took care with very small detail and really did everything in her power to make sure we had an unforgettable stay in this corner of paradise.
We accomplished a wonderful country tour from north to south in 11 days with the highlight being the ELEPHANTS….Wendy chose an ethical sanctuary and we had an amazing day…. Can’t forget the coconut ice cream at the floating market… such a well planned trip with the best hotel choices as well as an excellent tour guide who traveled from Bangkok to Chiang Mai with us educating us on Thai history as we explored the countryside! Thanks again for an amazing trip.
The tour was very well organized, the guides were kind and helpful. The places are really unforgetable. The only drawbacks were the very strong accent of some of them, making it sometimes difficult to understand the memorized speech they give in a hurry, and the lack of a cold box to keep the water cool during the tour in Chiang Rai (but the guide did her best to provide cool water whwnwver I asked for).
As a UK family of 4 wanting a wow factor holiday in Thailand, we approached Agate Travel (specifically Wendy Lee) who were wonderful from start to finish. They helped us to build a bespoke private tour covering Bangkok, Kanchanaburi, Ayutthaya and Chiang Mai. We had an incredible trip experiencing everything from amazing temples, food and waterfalls to jungle trekking, local markets and elephant sanctuaries. And so much more. Our two guides were passionate, friendly and knowledgable and spoke excellent English; drivers were kind and courteous; and transport was in very comfortable minibuses. All of the hotels were excellent 4* recommendations by Agate. Wendy even helped us with some advice on local flights in Thailand after our tour had finished and we were on Koh Samui. Amazing service. Furthermore, the cost of our trip with Agate was considerably cheaper than that quoted by a couple of UK luxury tour operators for the same trip (with a lower standard of hotel accommodation). Thank you Agate for arranging a brilliant holiday that we will never forget!
