this massage was a lot more painful than expected. The lady, for whatever reason, positioned me on my side for most of my massage so I was extremely uncomfortable. My clothes were left on so I was getting alot of uncomfortable rubbing from what I was wearing. Overall it was just okay. I was expecting better from a thai massage.
Nirvana Massage is the best place to get a massage in Chiang Mai, I really believe that. I’ve been to 10-15 different massage places around here and I keep coming back to Nirvana. I’ve had about 4 different massage therapists here and they were all amazing. During my massage last week I told the therapist that I had some lower back pain and she made a genuine effort to focus on that area without cutting out other parts of the massage. She went back to my lower back throughout the massage and worked some serious magic. They really care about their clients here and it shows. I don’t leave reviews often but I’m so happy with this place that I felt compelled to write this. I highly recommend stopping in here if you have the chance.
I go to many places for massages in Chiang Mai, this was one of the more decent places. But giving a review on a massage place is kinda counter-intuitive to the actual massage, as it is generally about the massage therapist that would give you a good or bad experience. I have been visiting this spa 5 times during Jan/Feb 2019. The massage is great, sometimes. The quality of the massage varied greatly between masseuses. Out of 5 visits I had 3 great massages, the other 2 were below average.
Nothing Special here, came in expecting to find a hidden gem, didn’t happen. First I came in alone, girlfriend was parking and I was handed a menu. I asked for 120 min “Spot Oil” which they told me was kinda Deep Tissue. and the girl got a surprised “ you want a two hour spot massage, that two hours of deep tissue.” Right then I felt uncomfortable so I said it can be one hour deep one hour relax.i was very sore been playing sports , plus had fallen pretty hard, Body was sore. Then instead of getting one the stronger therapist. Older women comes out out back room and proceeded to take me up four flights was stairs.i asked if I could take a shower afterwards and they said it was going to be extra 50 baht. Then the massage, WTF not fixing me, Just rubbing oil. After massage as done I went back downstairs and nothing. Felt uncomfortable again, no smiles, no tea, just “ OK, it will be 1800 baht. Girlfriend didn’t like her massage either said it smelled and not clean, don’t dare look behind the curtain upstairs. Also don’t expect calming relaxing music, just cars, traffic and 747 flying overhead. I never write reviews, but this place gave me no choice. Just have to Warn everyone about my experience. The service was ok, even though I wasn’t sure I was welcome there-cold reception. It was easy to relax quickly as There’s a sign specifically stating it’s not erotic massage etc so I didn’t have to brace for a selling of additional services while I’m in a vulnerable position. I forgot to tip. ?
