  1. A beautiful curiosity, easy to access for everyone, despite the 180 or so steps, and a beautiful view, with beautiful surprises at each level of the asension of this temple leaning against the mountain.

  2. Very beautiful temple, quite a few steps to climb but worth the detour.A magnificent view of the heights. I recommend.

  3. A temple with about 200 steps, with an impressive Buddha statue and a stunning view of the surroundings. About 9 floors and on each floor other statues. Entrance is free. The middle stairs are narrow and high, there are stairs on both sides that are much more comfortable and shaded. There is not much shade in the temple itself, it is recommended to arrive in the morning or towards the afternoon. When we arrived it was quiet, very few people and it was calm. Not a difficult climb, but can be challenging in the hot and humid weather

  4. Very beautiful temple complex and not many tourists there. The visit and the somewhat strenuous climb up are definitely worth it.

  5. Big Buddha Mountain offers a breathtaking view of the island, a beautiful setting and is surprisingly untouristy – and best of all: admission is free! An absolute must for every visitor.

  6. To do if you are in Ao Nang. Less difficult than Tigercave Temple (there are only about 200 steps this time, quite steep at times). Once at the top, you will experience a magnificent view of the exterior of Ao Nang! I recommend!

  7. An extraordinary place with amazing energy. We were closer to sunset, the views were great, the climb wasn’t that high, there were platforms at every stage of the climb. Extraordinary beauty. I recommend visiting.

  8. This was an interesting discovery for me. Saw the huge golden buddha built onto the slope of a hill from far and decided to have a better look since my hotel was not far away from the temple. Many steps to climb up but it doesn’t take long to reach the top even at a slow pace (perhaps 10 to 12 minutes but I took breaks to rest and enjoy the bird’s eye view of the surroundings so my climbing took a longer time and it wasn’t too tedious to me). TIP: Climb the stairs located at the (inconspicuous) side instead of the more prominent stairs built in the middle. There is a difference in the depth/size of the steps – the former is made of regular-sized steps whereas the latter has extremely narrow steps built steeply and will be dangerous for people with large feet or poor balance. The view from the top is okay, not incredible but it offers some calm and this is an interesting (cultural) diversion from the usual land and water activities in Ao Nang. There seems to be different names given to this temple – what I saw at the entrance is Ao Nang Guanyin Bodhisattva temple. Not many visitors while I was there in the early evening – just a couple of small tour groups. Go there if you’re staying nearby, otherwise, not worth the hassle to make a special trip for this as it’s a small temple and you’re unlikely to hang around for more than half an hour there.
