  1. returned after a few years……… as it has been very wet in pattaya the condition of the course was very good….greens were good…..in general pattaya was very quiet but the 11am to 12.30 starting times seamed to be overbooked…….of the 9 rounds of golf we played this was by far the slowest……a major complaint…….. my caddy was new to the job and was not much good…..not her fault as she has to learn….the other caddy did not help her in any way……I still paid the same as for an experienced caddy…..

  2. Staff is rude, GM would not take the time to visit with any customers even though they were not busy at all. The course was in great shape. We asked to walk with the caddies and they declined, but we had to walk anyways and the caddies drove the carts because they are cart path only all the time?! Very odd policies for such a great course. The caddies were new and did not know how to read putts. So I took the time to train their caddies on etiquette, greens, repairing ball marks etc…

  3. So my friends and i go to Thailand every year to play golf and usually we just stick to Bangkok City but this time we decided to do a little tour of Courses that were relatively nearby. Thank goodness we did because this course has always been on my list ever since watching it on tv, (LPGA Honda Classic). Our tee time was for 7:02 Am as this was the only available morning tee time left! We arrived on time in our rented SUV, it was about 25 mins drive from our airbnb location on the outskirts of Pattaya, On arrival the course looked absolutely immaculate, bag drop off was a distance from where we parked our car in the lower parking lot but no worries because they have a caddy shuttle service that brings you right back up! After checking in and being assigned our caddies we walked out to the starting 9 which was the back 9 that morning and let me tell you, i have played many courses in my life, but that view of the course stretching out in all its splendour of the early morning hours was absolutely breathtaking! Perfectly manicured greens with the freshly raked bunkers, and fairways stretching and curving off into the distance… Do yourselves a favour and get a tee time in at this course!!Tips:-Book a tee time well in advance because this course is always in high demand!- If you’re planning on playing here more than once and found a caddy that you liked make sure to book her 24 hrs in advance! I had Aum 105 and she was probably the best caddy I’ve ever had in all of my Thai golfing experience, she knew exactly where to lay up to even when i wanted to go for it and she knew every break of the green even when my eyes and feet told me otherwise (3 birdies that day with tons of other opportunities!)- also please be mindful of caddy tips.. Caddies depend on these tips to live and just because you come from a country that does not typically give a tip does not excuse you from having to give one, it just makes you ignorant. If you are a world traveler then it is your duty to look and learn about the customs of the country you are traveling to. Thanks!(recommended tip 600 ThB +, i tipped my caddy 2000 baht and she was worth every penny!)- Lastly, this isn’t specific to this course but all courses in hot climates, try to get an early tee time before 8:30 otherwise you will not only contend with a tough course but an unrelenting south-east asian sun beating down on you in the afternoon!

  4. We were 2 flights of 8 golfers teeing off in the morning. A short distance from Pattaya city, we took half an hour to reach the clubhouse. As expected of all premier golf clubs in Thailand, reception and registration was seamless. Caddies and golf carts were waiting and queing up at the tee box. As a popular course, it was quite crowded, with mostly foreign visitors like ourselves. Although buggy was restricted on track, the caddies make our game enjoyable with their tireless efforts to locate your golf ball and fetching us the correct club. Most of the caddies were experienced and were helpful in advising on distances and the line of the putt. Course condition was near perfect in mid March. We had an enjoyable game and was worth the cost of playing here.

  5. to high price. also to many koreans playing also, clogging course. best course in area though. nice clubhouse

  6. Golf course maintenance is very good, but Caddy is not working and drinking beer、 When I watched the caddy to stop drinking beer, the caddy stopped talking at all and gave up workI have never experienced such a terrible employee education shortage,I don’t think all caddies are the same, but it’s best to stop caddy number79

  7. If you don’t mind slow play playing behind groups of five balls waiting on every shot and spending five hours doing so then this the course for you. We played this course last year and it was the same but we thought we would give it another chance never again

  8. Played 11 courses around Pattaya and the Siam Old Course was definitely deserving of its No1 status. The price was high as you would expect but would play it again any day. Course was reasonably challenging for an 18 handicapper like myself but everything was beautifully manicured and the greens and fairways were magnificent. Caddys were friendly enough and advice from mine was fair although I would have rather shared a cart with a friend and played the course without the extra company – but that is not how it is on any of the courses we played at and I understand the value of putting some money back into the local economy.

  9. I am a member of Siam with membership at all 4 courses.. Old, Plantation, Waterside and Rolling Hills. I have been playing here for many years. These four courses along with Chee Chon and Laem Chabang are the best golf courses in the Pattaya region. For the price I would rate it as average in the rainy season up to November. A bit better in December and worse than average in the month before the Honda LPGA event. In the 3 months after the event it is better than average .Of the four Siam courses Siam Old is the worst of the bunch. Fairways and bunkers are often in bad shape. Course managers refuse to take the small steps needed to improve the condition of Siam Old. Greens come and go. They spend more time getting ready for the LPGA event than maintaining the course for members and visitors. This is not the case for the other three Siam courses which are, with Chee Chon, mostly in great shape. Caddies, other facilities and personel including the restaurant at Siam Old are good. If you are a golfing visitor, focus on the other Siam golf courses. Though in the period following the Honda LPGA event Siam Old is for 2-3 months usually in great shape.

  10. The golf course is beautiful and luxurious, but the attitude of the staff here is rather bad. They should receive better training. The service is also bad. If you make a mistake, there is no apology. Just think about it. Paying almost 13,000 baht per person but receiving such bad service, who would want to come and use the service? Leave it for thought…

  11. We were on a business trip and have been invited to play the Siam Old course. The course to play is quite ok, but there are for sure better once around Pattaya.I thin it is the most overrated course in Pattaya. The biggest problem is th slow speed. If zou have 5 1/2 hour left you may play it.After the first 9 holes the let us wait 1 hour to play the next 9 holes. Incerdible!!We ask to call the marshall after 30 minutes of waiting. The starter called him but did ot come in person. He said to the starter we have to wait another 30 minutes. We have never seen him on course! After the round we have seen the marshall sitting around in the club house looking videos on his phone!! We will for sure not play again this overrated old course. Go to better and cheaper and better managed courses.
