  1. I’ve known JU the owner of this trek agency and his family for 6 years. Thanks to him I’ve had amazing experiences on the Pai river, and with the Lahu Hill tribe; I still visit my dear Lahu friends every year, with the guide or alone with a motorbike. A bit pricey agency, but you get right into the life of Hill tribe life by staying with them, eating, drinking and laughing with them, taking part in their every day life… For repeated memories of a lifetime..

  2. Extremely impressed with Ju and his driver, picked up on time. Took us to four different hill tribe villages including one less than 3 km from the boarder. The views were spectacular and nothing like what I expected to see.

  3. I am a solo female traveller and spent 3 days in beautiful Mae Hong Son. I explored the town and surrounds on foot (loved the Burmese/Thai Wats) for the first two days and wanted to see a little more of the countryside on the last day so took a tour with Rose Garden. It is a family owned business and being a slow time in early October, the tour consisted of my self and wonderful guide, Kai. We visited many places, including the Bamboo Bridge, waterfall, amazing variety of bamboo trees, Ban Rak Thai (Chinese Village), tribal villages and the Mountain Wat close to the city for a sunset view. Kai really made my trip as I loved his enthusiasm and passion for the countryside. His love of nature was obvious and he was a very considerate humble guide I was impressed that when my IPhone camera died mid afternoon, Kai lent me his phone so I would not miss out on remaining pictures and kindly forwarded them to me the following day.. I would definitely do another tour with Kai and Rose Garden Tours when I return to this beautiful little town

  4. Hi, we are just a bit upset now: we had booked a 3 days tour by email for 3000 baths (like advertised on their website). Arriving for this in mae hong son, we went to the agency where we were told the price would be 7500 baths. Very dispointed, we declined and were lucky to find an alternative with Nim Ram! Tout est bien qui finit bien! Looking to other advices i am sure rosegarden tour is great but as an advice: better confirm your booking and the price twice!!

  5. We booked in Mae Hong Son a day trip to two Temples, bamboo bridge, waterfall and the Chinese town in the north part of Thailand on the border with Myanmar . The guide and owner of the Tourist Office rose garden could tell us a lot of background information from the places we visit. Driver was also driving safe and not too fast in the curves of the road.

  6. We took two tours at very good price:-Boat trip to Long Neck village and visit to temples-Tour to tribal villages and Cave LodgeBoth tours were excellent: guides, lunches and places visited…Recommended!

  7. We took the long boat up to a long neck village from Mae Hong Son with Roses tours I had read so much about the villages being “zoos” that I wasn’t sure what to expect. This was a great day, the guide who was also the owner had been involved the village for some years and obviously had a good relationship with them. To those who call it a zoo , I would say that there is an element of that for those who walk through, stare and take photos. Take the time to talk to these people, buy their work and find out about their lives. They are proud of their culture and it is worth spending the time with them. ❤️

  8. We took a day tour with Pranee. She was super and spoke English very well. We visited Bamboo Bridge to temple, “Fish Cave” actually nice walk in the forest with carp in the river and then to Chinese Village for great lunch. In the afternoon we went to large Lake next to Shan Village. I was concerned that this visit may be inappropriately intrusive for the local people but this did not seem so-but of course I could not ask-I hope not. Overall a great day to be recommended.

  9. Unlike the so-called “long neck villages” a trecking tour to a Black Lahu with Ju (owner of Rosegarden tours) means two or three days without any other tourists. The hike is amazing, lovely landscapes, absolute peace and calm. Good hiking shoes are recommendes. Ju told us that he is the only guide who goes to this region and that he knows three different trecks so he picks the one that is most convenient for the level of the participants. We slept in a bamboo hut on a thin mattress – it was like a tent inside the hut so that everybody had its privacy. Of course this is no “5 star hotel” so except to renounce on some luxury for the night. But nowaday there is electricity and there is even a toilet seat although you have to flush with water from a big barrel. For lunch we had great picnic and for dinner the locals cooked for us – no worry, if you are not too experimental they have food that is adapted to westerner’s taste :-)During the hike Ju gave us a lot of useful information.I really enjoyed the 2 days!

  10. I did two day-tours with Rose Garden in mid February 2020, the boat ride to the Long Neck village, as well as a day tour to various villages, Sutongpe Bridge, and Mae Aw. On both days, Pranee was our guide, and she was incredibly fun, kind, and knowledgeable. I had emailed Rose Garden before coming to Mae Hong Son and never got a response, which was a little frustrating, but walking around town, they are clearly the easiest tour company to use and aren’t pushy at all. Just stop by and see what they have to offer, and they will take care of you! Depending on how many people are on the tour, the prices may fluctuate, but overall, I thought it was fair, and the two trips were memorable.
