Awesome day out with the boys. Caught a dozen tuna. The staff where great and set it all up for a delicious lunch. Can’t wait to do it again on my next trip to Phuket.

Booked a private charter with my son for the day. Wanted a good day fishing without the hassle of sharing a boat with others. Wahoo seemed like good choice after reading some positive reviews. When we arrived at the office in Chalong I was informed we had an upgrade to a bigger boat the “Reel Hooker”, so that was good news. The crew were very good and did everything to make sure we had the best possible chance of catching some fish. The morning was slow but picked up in the afternoon. I would use them again.
It was my first time on a fishing trip and all in all i had a very enjoyable experience! We caught a few fish for the day and they were filleted by the crew. Had a fantastic trip, crew were amazing ! You guys rock!!!
We took a boat named Double Issue out for the day to Racha Island with a group of friends. The boat was well equipped and the staff very helpful in a non-intrusive way. On the way there we could some small tuna which they served with a lime dressing, amazing. Can’t be any more fresh. Lunch on the boat with chef was excellent too. I really enjoyed that the captain was able to take us to some spots without any other boats! Can definitely recommend…
We have been fishing many times with Wahoo and their wonderfull crew over the last years. Deep sea fishing, relaxing on the deck, enjoying a perfect lunch at the boat. The crew is so very nice, helpfull and friendly. We have the same crew all the time and they became new friend. See you next year!
Booked a private charter last week. Both the boat and the gear was no what wahoo representative has sent to me via email pictures and what we aligned over the phone. Especially the gear was in a quite bad shape and not what advertised. Here a special mention to the bottom fishing gear which was not usable really (broken guides, outworn reels, cheap rods, really bad quality hooks – one broke in fish’s mouth and those were tiny fish).Wahoo needs to invest in gear before they call this service a big game fishing trip. I mean you can get the same service via a longtail boat for a tenth of the price!!!Crew did the best they could. Also the food was good and the crew did cool on request some catch.All in all I would not recommend this trip because it did not meet the value for the money expectations and because the fake advertising.
Pros1. Double issue the yacht is large, well maintained & beautiful.2. Staff is friendly.Cons1. The biggest issue is, this sunset cruise on a LUXURY yacht (5500 baht/pax) is meant to be EXCLUSIVE. However, the operator filled the yacht up with non paying guests to make the trip worthwhile as there were only a few paying guests. We understand some operators have a minimum headcount requirement to sail & we would not have made a fuss had it been the case. But to fill it up to make the numbers just took away the romantic part of our sunset cruise & the privileges. We could have paid less than half the price for such a service. 2. The snorkelling stop is rubbish. Poor visibility & few fishes. This is debatable as it could be due to weather & timing but I have done this many times at other excursions in Phuket & Thailand, and it was always good.
I want to start off by saying the staff at Wahoo especially the crew members and driver are wonderful. The driver who picked us up from the hotel was extremely apologetic for arriving late by mere minutes. The crew members were attentive and helpful.My family chose to go game fishing and the entire trip lasted from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. On our way to the Andaman Sea, we saw beautiful islands and the water was always a vibrant blue/turquoise color. The yacht (though a bit worn) had a wonderful padded area on top which was great was sitting or lying down. Sadly, we didn’t catch anything on our trip which was disappointing but the experience is something that I will cherish.Also, it is was worth to mention that the food made by the crew members was fantastic and as authentic as you can get.I would recommend this trip for people who are interested and definitely think that our experience with not catching fish is rare.
