Highly recommend Paintbar if you’re looking for something different to do with some mates. Don’t worry if you’re not an artist as the staff will guide you through the process. The lady who helped us was Connie and she was brilliant. Very patient and knowledgeable. Good small drinks menu and some simple but tasty bar snack style food. A fun few hours in Bangkok!
My boyfriend and I went here to do something different. Neither of us are particularly arty but we’re so glad we came. Paintbar provided us with excellent fun and amusement for about 4 hours whilst we tried to copy the painting of the day. The place itself is really cosy and staff are on hand to tell you where to start or what to do next. Although our paintings weren’t a masterpiece we took them home and they remind us of a really fun afternoon. I recommend this a lot and we will be back!
Such fun! You are given a teacher, a paiting to copy, a canvas, all the paints — and a cash bar!! We were a group of 10 ladies and had a fabulous evening of art and laughter. Strongly recommend!
Paintbar is another unique way to enjoy a visit to Bangkok, a different kind of fun.It is a bar that serves light snacks and drinks with a guided painting session on the side. No professional art background required as the associates will walk you through the painting session from beginning to end. Perfect for families, couples and group of friends wanting a different bonding activity. The bar is located on Sukhumvit Soi 49, near the Philippines embassy at the second floor of Piman 49, the area itself has a number of restaurants if you prefer to have something heavy after painting and ample parking lot. Nearest BTS is Prompong, then a short taxi ride in less than 5 minutes. I visited Paintbar last July 2, 2017, the place itself is cosy and nice, cool music to set the mood, snacks served were awesome too and of generous serving size. A painting sesh costs THB799 (roughly 24USD) and you paint, nibble and drink up to 4 hours or it closes. They offer wine, beer, soda and non-alcohol beverages.I particularly like their meatballs, salsa and chips and potato wedges. They offer different painting options per day and the designs can easily be found on their FB page or website. The shop opens from Tuesdays till Saturdays, 2pm to 10.30pm. What’s best is you get to bring your own masterpiece with you!
My first visit to a Paint Bar was so much fun. The staff were there to guide our creative efforts in painting throughout the 3 hours while we sipped wine and ate munchies. No problem with English. And the result – paintings that we were all pleased with especially when we got them home ad could see them from a distance. Wine is expensive but you can take your own and just pay corkage. Highly recommend for a different experience.
This is a welcome new activity for people to spend their leisure time in Bangkok. Had a great time & even painted something decent, even though the last time I painted something was when I was 10 years old. A different famous painting is used each day as a guide for customers to follow, you can check the calendar of paintings on their website. When I was there it was Van Gogh’s Starry Starry Night and a Xmas tree painting. Several instructors are available to help guide beginners like myself. Drinks (craft beer, wine by the bottle only, non-alcoholic, etc.) and light dishes (eg. meatballs, etc.) are available. You get to keep your painting after you finish.There are two 3-hour sessions per day, afternoon & evening, reservations recommended.
This is place is an absolute joy and really good fun. The staff are great and help should you get stuck while painting. There is enough choice for drinks with a few snacks. But there are loads of nice places for dinner or lunch afterwards. I would definitely try this place out. It’s really therapeutic to paint after a long day at work.
on a day without planned excursions in Bangkok, I accepted a friend invitation to go to a place where one can have 2 hours paint lesson supervised and helped by one of the many nice and skilled employees who by the way are all Thai national . the room is at the top floor of a building in a little enclave on Sukhumvit soi 49. I confess that I do not ever once think about painting, yet I fully enjoyed the experience and discovered how fun and fulfilling this activity can be. One more thing that can really make a visit to Bangkok really special !!
What I love most about Bangkok is the random activities that are available, and this didn’t disappoint! You choose the day you want to go based on the painting that will be taught (or you can do any of the paintings for an extra 300 baht) so we tried to go for something particularly Thai to commemorate our time here. The staff guide you through each step and offer help when you need it, which is great. Usually you’d be able to have a drink as you’re painting, but not for us as there’s currently an alcohol ban. This didn’t stop us having the most fun! Highly recommend!
So much fun! There is staff available to help and any skill level is encouraged to join. I would definitely recommend this place.
