I popped in here purely to see if Mary Jane was here, she was and at 1000thb i thought it was decent but walking along the beach a few days later I thought id check out a different place to compare the price and it was 500 for exactly the same amount and stuff. I also took my girlfriend here for a drink and they were possibly the worst cocktails I’ve ever tasted, I ordered a whiskey sour and it had soda water in it and barely tasted of alcohol for 200baht and my girlfriend had amaretto sour which tasted almost as bad but some how stronger than the whiskey sour. There are way better bars in Koh Lanta but there is one a bit further up on the beach, I can’t remember the name but on the sign outside there’s a big old ganja leaf and the guy who runs the place is called Joey. The second time I went there they laughed at me because I was wearing a Cardiff City shirt as I’m a fan and told me Cardiff were tihs but I’d still rather go to that place even if they weren’t only joking.
The staff here are SO amazing! Going out drinking as a solo traveller can be a challenge but these guys made me feel so welcome and safe (even making sure I got home safe at the end of the night). They went above and beyond to make sure I was having a grid time, sharing smoke and joining me for conversations. Super chill bar, great location, great vibes. I can’t wait to come back when it’s busier and see how the party scene is there!Prices are standard for Koh Lanta beac bars and the mix of reggae, ska and house means you easily get over it.
Where to start… we we were welcomed into this psychedelic paradise by an angel named Tony. We started off our afternoon with the most delicious food on all of the Thailand. Then we decided to buy some ‘happy shakes’ and god damn did they work. Would return in a heartbeat just to spend more time with Tony and his cat. 10/10 Miss it already 🙁 – Luke and Lily 🙂

Wow, simply wow !! A first for me with a shake which absolutely worked – never felt unsafe and enjoyed the trip. Tony was attentive and knew how to manage the journey – the place is just set up for the experience right on the beach – that’s a ticked box for me !! Food, drinks and service was amazing – highly recommend if you want something unique ??
Came here for the mushroom shakes as heard good things about them. However they were an absolute scam, was very disappointed after waiting 2 hours with no effect. On top of that we ordered food that was bang average and 2 cocktails that were okay. DO NOT RECOMMEND!
The atmosphere and music was good. Just one thing remained bothering me. Why does a bar named Freedom bar have two birds locked in a tiny cage in men’s toilet?
If I could give no stars for this I would. The people that work in there are very strange. I left my phone there, went back to get it and the bar staff has taken my money and threw my phone on the floor. They might seem nice but really they will just take your money. Not a guy to normally write a bad review but just wanted to warn people about this place.
Found this place whilst walking along the beach (only 50m from our resort at the Lazy Lodge ?). Absolutely love this place, even at low season it had great Glasto vibe and the sunset was amazing. Staff were really friendly and the food was great . Highly recommend if your in the area.
Solo female traveller here. Bought a pre-roll but stopped smoking after taking the first toke – it tasted funny. Left the bar as the music was too loud and the vibe was dodgy, and ten minutes later as I’m walking down the beach I realize I’m feeling very unwell – legs want to give way, palpitations, thoughts and movements erratic. Found refuge in a friendly bar and rode out the trip for the next 3 hours. Scary. Lucky I made it home okay.
