  1. If you’re a lover of golf then the thai country club has all the attributes to look for. Genuine welcome, great club house facilities (even during renovation ), immaculate golf course, true greens and top quality management – have been back time and time again.

  2. 2nd day of trip, not slept, but who cares, fantastic layout, lots of water, fantastic welcome in shop, introduced to caddies, first time for both of us, but they were brilliant, set the mark for the rest of our trip. Some greens were a bit damaged but it did not take anything from the day. Great service and food in the clubhouse. Could not do enough for you.

  3. The Thai Country Club golf course is located in an industrial complex. Surrounded by manufacturing buildings. So don’t expect great views – as there are no views at all.The course is a good course. Well laid out and maintained. They play professional tournaments here, so the tee set ups allow for demanding play regardless of handicappers. That said, the course is pretty wide open, and not technically difficult. Even high handicappers can enjoy the course and shoot a low score.Typical Thai style, every person can have their own cart driven by their own female caddie. Our foursome found the caddies knowledgable about the course, good at distance reads and also pretty good at helping with club selection after a few holes. We played on 12/28/15 – and it was very crowded. I was told the course is rarely so crowded, and generally easy to get on. As we’d made our reservations in July, we had no problem, but the other two-some apparently had to pull strings to get a tee time. Our round took just over 4 hours. Many would consider this not bad, but it could have been done in 3.5 hours if there were a bit more course management in place. That said, the pace of play was not too bad for a busy day.We saw no Thai players that day. Talking with the caddies we learned that the course is dominated by Japanese players. Most caddies have more Japanese language skills than English! But this “country club” is owned by the Peninsula Hotel, and not a “member club” with locals. You’ll immediately know you are playing what is more of a high-end municipal course with limited access than a real country club. The meet-and-greet at the curbside was absolutely horrible. There was rampant confusion by the staff. LIkewise, check-in was not easy. And there was no assistance finding the starter – or our clubs – or our cart – or the first tee. Absolutely HORRIBLE attention to players at check-in and the starter location. One could blame this on language issues if it weren’t for the fact that the Peninsula runs the place and it is primarily for tourists – not locals. Honestly, the check in was so bad I almost gave it a 3 rating rather than a 4.The clubhouse is very nice. Well built and with many features, such as suanas, whirlpools, etc. If you are into clubhouses, this one is pretty good. I like seeing the money go into the course and management, so not my thing. Overall, you’ll get a decent round of golf here. Just nothing special. Pretty course, inviting to play, not too challenging, very modern. Charged to my VISA, they were able to bill in US Dollars and the round, with cart, was $145/person. Caddie tip was 400 Baht (about $12.50.) So the price is agreeable for a major city location. I think the car to/from the golf cost more than the golf did – as it is a good 1 hour drive from the major hotel areas (Peninsula, Shangri-La, Mandarin Oriental, Hilton, etc.) to the course – so you’ll need a driver there, and he’ll need to wait to then take you back. I’d play again, if in Bangkok, but I’d probably try some of the other courses first. There’s no special reason to play here.

  4. Played as a member’s guest. Was rushed to the tee box due to a late cab arrival. Female starter was especially rude. I explained that it wasn’t my fault and that I wanted a later tee time so that my fiancée and I could warm up on the range. It was not until I asked to call the member that things eased up. The pro shop staff was very pleasant and professional. The caddies were pleasant, but lacked the course knowledge of the caddies at Siam Country Club Old Course. The greens were recently aerated and were not running at 9.2 as stated. It was a nice course, but for the same price I would play at Siam Old Course again. The female starter that rushed us should be taught some etiquette. At my home course in Hawaii, she would be reprimanded.

  5. It is not just the attractive and enjoyable course that makes this such a good round of golf, it is also the quality of the staff. The caddies are excellent; knowledgeable with good language and interpersonal skills and the clubhouse staff are also great. How much does it cost the club to give you a complimentary bottle of water? Very little, but the gesture is appreciated, other clubs should take note.

  6. We chanced upon this by accident. Our flight back from Hanoi had a 9-hour layover so we went here to play golf instead. It’s less than a half hour from Swarnabhoomi Airport. And discovered others groups had done the same! Remarkable, manicured course. There was no rough outgrowth anywhere, with vast expanses of water and manicured hedges. See pictures below. The first time I’ve seen a dedicated cart and caddie for a single golfer. (Usually, it’s shared between two golfers, as I’d just experienced in Hanoi). Amazing caddies – give perfect putting recommendations, are very well trained, confident, humorous and smartly turned out. At the end, the club asks for detailed surveys on your caddie’s performance! Please don’t be stingy. Tip them generously. I’ve seen recommendations they be paid $10. Wha???Compare that to the €75 you must pay in Europe and compare their performance- you’ll see what I mean. I recommend you ask for Oh. Yes, that’s her name! I’m going back to Bangkok in 6 months, and will definitely golf here again.

  7. A very nice course and club with first rate club house and restaurant ! The golf course is well maintained and lady caddies are friendly and helpful! The golf course is not very challenging for a low handicap player but whole experience makes for an enjoyable outing! The course has some water and greens are in good shape ! Only if there more distinctive layout as many holes are similar

  8. What a top golf day! This place is roughly an hour out of downtown, and they look after you from the minute you step foot on the premises. Everything is so easy. The course itself is also very easy on the eyes as well as forgiving.

  9. The golf course is well-maintained and nice to play. Bunkers are the main hazards with occasional water. The caddy I had was excellent, kept me away from trouble and helpful with green reading. Everyone was helpful. Had a very enjoyable round and would recommend.
