We booked a tour to Doi Inthanon Park with trekking of two hours directly at the agency with the owner who told us that he would personally lead the group made of only 6 people and a local trekking guide: it wasn’t exactly like that at all! We were 8 and he wasn’t the guide. The guide was a girl who didn’t explained anything at all, we were asking questions to have some information but she had scarce knowledge and not enough English to explain in details. She would just say were we were stopping and for a how long, or presenting a pagoda with only one or two sentences that you can read on panels by yourself. We then discovered that she normally takes care of reservations. The trip is hop on hop off to a waterfall, a market, coffee factory and then we went to have lunch. Then we went to do trekking but water wasn’t provided as per description, just during lunch. The nature and landscape is very beautiful but the service wasn’t good enough. They also picked us up 30 minutes later: 8.00 instead of 7.30, I understand thre is traffic, but still…overall disappointing. As a guide myself I think they could do much more for the price we paid.
Chutikarn from Wild Adventures was great. She patiently explained our options in excellent English and offered great value for our group of 4. The Chiang Rai and Thai Cooking tours were worth every Baht and I highly recommend them as a service provider.
What a great tour experience!!!! Troy was more than excellent. He was always happy with smile, kindness and help. I and my wife, my friend’s couple hired a car for two days through Chiang Rai, Golden Triangle, Doi Tung, Tea Plantation. Tour was amazing with laugh and lots fun. Most of all we had wonderful dinner at Chiang Saen which we had never eaten Tasty Thai Food. Troy ordered many Thai Food for our five people . For the tourist it would be hard to order real local food. He explained all dishes for ingredients and taste like. Can you imagine how much we paid for this wonderful dinner? We paid only 920 Baht ( 40 CD$).Whatever we asked to see, Troy was willing to do it. We went many Thai Farm to feel real Thai to see fruit trees. I am expecting to visit Chiang Mai next year and drive to go Pai, Maehongsun area.I hope this family business is going well.
Troy was our amazing guide. We went trekking through the jungle and then slept at a local Tribe. The next day we visited Doi Ithanon. Simply amazing!
Had the best day yet in Thailand! Troy was an amazing guide and together with Yo they made this trip super awesome. Got to learn a lot about the jungle and the views were spectacular. We ended up hiking up to 5,5 hours which went by very fast. I would definitely recommend the trip. I had the best time!
The highlight of my Chiang Mai trip. While the route is challenging (recommended for people with some hiking experience and/or moderate fitness levels) but it is so off the beaten path that we saw and learned so much about nature (both plants and animals)! Come with your grippy shoes or borrow the rubber shoes/ walking sticks if you want to be extra prepared.Guides Mr Troy and Mr Yo were super knowledgeable, friendly and helpful – felt like we were in good hands throughout the trip.Thank you to the Wild Adventures team for curating this tour, hope to hike with you again!PS: Bonus points for the packed home-cooked lunch in reusable containers and the delicious tropical fruits we had along the way!
Husband is the actual tour guide who has detailed knowledge of the area that you will be hiking (you will see non other tourists apart from your group so non commercial at the moment ) hike takes you into thick jungle with an existing path you need good shoes with some slippers as you will be getting into a stream to go to see the waterfall) excellent hike made lunch (too much food to be honest!) you will get an overview of the plants and herbs that grow in the forest and if you are lucky see some monkeys and other creatures (we saw a green snake). At the end you will get a delicious refreshment of local coffee fruits and tea before being transported back to your hotel. Expect approx 5 hours of trekking some of it up hill for a period of time so you will be due a Thai massage at the end ( they can recommend a good one at the temple just ask very cheap too)
Have used these guys over the years and have found the lady to be really knowledgeable about her tours, good value and very friendly.I booked a day trip to Doi Inthanon and was very well organised with a great English speaking guide for the day. They are located a few minutes down from the Tha Pae entrance to the old city.
We had an amazing day with this tour! Our guides Troy and Jo were very nice and explained us many interesting facts about the local plants and animals. We could even taste several herbs that grow in the mountain. The hike itself was beautiful, we really went into the untouched jungle and were surrounded by large trees and even monkeys. At some points the path was quite steep and challenging but it was doable and no problem to take a break every now and then. Also, it was so fun to sometimes cross the river on bamboo bridges that Troy built himself! The lunch and waterfall shower were a delicious and refreshing break. After the hike, we were surprised with fruits and coffee! Thankyou for the nice day!!
I have used the company a few times and have found them to be really his for information and also prices.I did a 1 day tour to Doi Inthanon with a 2 hour trek. The day went well and was an action packed day as we did a 2 hour trek in Doi inthanon, went to a local village for lunch and also saw the majestic pagodas.
