Thanks to our family connections we were able to dine in the Casual restaurant (allows shorts and mobile phones). Staff friendly and helpful. Good choice of Thai and Continental Cuisine. We had Hamburgers and Club Sandwiches followed by Thai desserts and beverages. Well priced if you have a membership. Then looked at the gorgeous Olympic Pools and Sports facilities. Was able to go in coz I’m a member of a reciprocal club in another country. World class country club in the middle of the city. Never saw a golf course inside a race track! The grass courts look inviting and would bring my tennis gear next time.
RBSC is still an outstanding sports club, but getting old. The membership has alsobeen changing, from roughly 70% Thai and 30% non-Thai (20 years ago) to about 90% Thai and 90% non-Thai, as a result of admission policy that gives priority to children and grand-children of members. The international flavor has diminished accordingly.The RBSC facilities feature a beautiful golf course in the middle of Bangkok. A second RBSC location is newer and offers two swimming pools, an outdoors jogging track andhorse riding facilities. The atmosphere is friendlier to foreigners.Non-members are admitted to RBSC only when invited and accompanied by a member.
As a guest at this exclusive club, the lunch on the verandah was slow but very good Thai food. The papaya salad with grilled chicken and sticky rice was very good. The padthai with prawns not bad; I have had better. Fresh spring rolls and chicken satay was excellent.
This was a first for me. I have never played a golf shot over a canal, a sand horse racing track, a grass horse racing track and then another canal…. all in the same shot. Such fun. A privilege to have been invited to play the course. The course is tight but great fun, offering much enjoyment as you attack the small and challenging greens. High rise buildings surround the site and complement the experience.We enjoyed lunch upstairs above the golf facilities, beautiful views of the course and delicious food. They have outside caterers, so way better than the cafe style food I sampled at the nearby polo club. I look forward to my next visit to the RBSC. Well done to all the staff, first class experience. We had our gala dinner arranged here.loved the ceremony,the environment but the food options was limited.There were many Muslims over there and we had only fish which was HALAL.
Was invited by a member to play golf at the very private RBSC. What a unique experience playing golf in the center of Bangkok surrounded by high rise buildings all around. It was a little hot(37C) so the umbrella helped and the female caddies were great. What service! The course was shorter yardage but in good shape but very challenging due to the many water hazards and narrow fairways, a truely unique experience. Wow
Fantastic sports club in the middle of Bangkok. Had a great game of golf with a member – the golfcourse is fun and rather short. But not that easy. in the middle of a race track. Lunch was quick and nice.
